Job Summary:

Major Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing, configuring, and implementing web mapping applications and associated web sites using web languages to modify existing functionality. 
• Performing systems administration functions for web map applications and other technologies that may include GIS services to ensure supported systems are efficiently maintained and available to support Bechtel's project needs. 
• Automating GIS tasks using GIS programming languages. 
• Efficiently managing geospatial databases for vector data, digital elevation models, point clouds, imagery, 3D models, and others. 
• Creating and maintaining GIS Web services for multiple projects in various locations. 
• Performing ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required and performing query, analysis and reporting activities. 
• Performing systems administration functions for ArcGIS Servers, Web Services including user accounts, permissions of web mapping applications and determining technical requirements, business processes, tests, debugs, and coordinates the implementation of moderately complex software solutions.  
• Troubleshooting issues by reviewing logs, performing data queries, recreating steps & interacting with users. 
• Developing scripting of GIS-based tools for desktop and web-based platforms, working with GIS team and Bechtel's clients to ensure data quality and completeness.  
• Maintaining up-to-date and accurate geospatial documentation for reference purposes and staying up to date or abreast of the latest developments in the GIS field, actively participates in technical excellence activities. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Geoscience, or related fields. 
• Requires a background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with 7-9 years of experience as a GIS Developer, GIS Web Administrator, GIS Engineer, or a related field with demonstrated capabilities in GIS. 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience using the Esri suite of products including ArcGIS Server Advanced or ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, and Python scripting required.  
• Professional IT experience in Windows and Web Servers administration.  
• Experience in developing web-based GIS applications. 
• Experience in programming language (HTML, JavaScript VB.Net, etc.) is required. 
• Experience in database management is required. 
• Experience integrating with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D and SP3D, preferred. 
• Experience with data modeling, data conversion, and ETL Software such as FME is desired. 
• Experience working with a variety of vector and raster datasets from public and private sources. 
• Must have proficiency working with all geospatial data formats.  
• Knowledge of cartographic standards, procedures, and practices. 
• Knowledge of trends and standards of the GIS industry, and relevant local, state and country regulations.
• Strong ability to create innovative solutions for the AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) industry. 
• Able to fluently communicate in English and in Spanish, both verbally and in written communications (high proficiency). Interviews will be conducted in English.
