Job Summary:
In this role, you will coordinate the development, organization, and implementation of the training plan for a project’s Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) program. You will collaborate to develop orientation, courses, strategies, leadership programs, and other methods for content delivery. Your work will ensure effective ES&H communication and training that will improve worker safety on the job.
Major Responsibilities:
- Developing and coordinating environmental, safety, and health (ESH) processes to enhance ESH program implementation.
- Coordinating preparation and implementation of training plans and standard and specialized ESH courses that relate to contracted scopes of work and Bechtel's ESH standards.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts to develop training materials and awareness strategies.
- Leading processes for classroom and instructor-led courses, hands-on training (e.g., hazard school), printed media, and other methods to promote knowledge and awareness of all three ESH disciplines.
- Coordinating the Craft-Based Leadership program including training, recordkeeping, and dissemination of observational information and recommendations from craft professionals and confirms resolution of recommendations.
- Applying the ESH Management System to achieve continual improvement, preparing documentation for the annual program review, and maintaining system elements such as a risk register and legal register.
- Identifying ESH stakeholders and tailoring training and communication campaigns considering risk assessment, demographics, trades, languages, and other factors.
- Engaging an approved third-party vendor when necessary for training materials and translation services.
- Performing data management and analysis and prepares reports, presentations, EHS performance assessments, and trend analysis.
- Reviewing data from risk assessments, audits, and incidents to identify opportunities to improve training, communication, procedures and processes, and control and mitigation measures.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a bachelor’s degree related to environmental, safety, health, education, or a science-related discipline, and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Extensive experience in project construction and knowledge of safety standards.
- Experience and knowledge in working with environmental and health building regulations.
- Knowledge of regulatory and industry standards and criteria relevant to environmental and health learning and development needs.
- Ability to write executive reports, develop presentations on project safety topics and manage assigned resources.
- Knowledge of learning and development systems, both environmental and health applications and automation methods, and the application of computers to associated process improvement tasks.
- General knowledge of writing and production of training, marketing and communication tools.
- Ability to organize, guide and lead ES&H meetings with representatives of departments, contractors and subcontractors of the project.
- Demonstrated ability for oral and written communication, and to prepare clear and complete correspondence.
