Mining and Metals:
Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. Job Summary:
In this role, you will manage a project’s supply chain operations and its assigned Supply Chain personnel to establish and implement the procurement and subcontract planning, acquisition, order administration, and delivery of goods and/or services. Your team will execute the project Supply Chain plan, ensuring the monitoring of safety, quality, cost, and performance and that all contractual duties and obligations are met by all parties to each purchase order and subcontract.
Major Responsibilities:
- Preparing recommendations and reporting for contracting for major materials and services, taking into consideration legal, commercial, and financial factors, using company tools.
- Establishing and implementing the Procurement and/or Subcontract formation, administration, delivery, and quality programs and ensures compliance to applicable Bechtel policies and procedures.
- Developing and implementing the Supply Chain staffing plan and facilitates training, technical guidance, and development to Supply Chain staff assigned to the project.
- Participating in business line and project related meetings, works closely with Business Unit and Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Project Controls, Finance, Logistics, Supplier Quality, ES&H and Legal
- Providing for adherence to risk and insurance provisions and coordinates with Risk Management on any occurrences covered by Customer or Bechtel provided insurance
- Engaging in the program to identify and preparing claims as they develop and directs the efforts to negotiate and resolve claims in coordination with the Claims Group and Legal Department
- Responsible for the sourcing and negotiation with suppliers for goods and services. Ensure compliance with contracts and procurement policies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Strategic Supply Chain (Procurement & Contracts) Planning.
- Change Management: change management, claims and dispute resolution.
- Strong skills in supplier and contract negotiations
- Leadership & Collaboration: Team management, cross-functional coordination and driving performance, leadership in difficult negotiations.
- Risk Mitigation & Crisis Management - Scenario planning, contingency strategies, supplier diversification, identifying potential disruptions and developing contingency plans.
- Communication: Clear and effective communication with internal teams and external partners.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge and familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Unifier, EBS).
