Project Overview:

Mining and Metals:

Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide non-routine cost engineering/planning and scheduling needs to projects. You will establish stakeholder relationships, conduct schedule analysis and integrate activities, identify restraints, quantify risks, monitor cost and performance, recommend alternatives, and deliver training sessions and workshops. Your activities will synthesize project components into seamless execution.

Major Responsibilities:

• Providing and/or coordinating generally non-routine cost engineering/planning and scheduling needs to projects.
• Responsible for total integration of schedule activities. Identifies schedule considerations and problems resulting from inter-discipline or functional restraints and interfaces.
• Conducting project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule activities.
• Recommending alternatives for schedule improvement to project team for discussion and/or decision.
• Responsible for leading, when requested, the development and review of schedule recovery plans, including evaluation of additional resources/costs required to affect such plans.
• Monitoring cost recording and reporting practices for compliance with applicable standards.
• Responsible for the development and accuracy of cost reports. Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency.
• Leading risk workshops, interviews and information gathering as it relates to risk identification, review, and update.
• Responsible for the establishment and continued improvement of project functional stakeholder relationships towards effective PERM execution and Customer interface with PERM activities including training as necessary.
• Delivering training sessions and facilitates workshops.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13  years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
• Previous experience performing in senior Project Controls capacity on a large-scale EPC / M projects.
• Experience, working within large multi-disciplinary teams during the Engineering, Procurement and Construction phases of a project. Solid commercial awareness experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Demonstrated experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, project setup, control, analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting/systems.
• Demonstrated experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis.
• Demonstrated experience in change management, including trend program.
• Demonstrated experience in CAPEX estimate development for large-scale EPC projects.
• Experience in managing and maintaining a Risk Management Program.
• Experience in delivering fully integrated EPC(M) projects.
• Excellent skill in oral and written communication, including experience presenting information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel.
