Ujina Growth Project:
The mining area is located 185 km southeast of Iquique, at 4,400 meters above sea level, in Tarapacá Region. The main objective of Doña Inés de Collahuasi’s project is to increase the concentrator’s throughput capacity from an average of 170 ktpd to 210 ktpd. Currently, the awarded service corresponds to the execution of Package PG1 - the first of three packages contemplated for this project - which involves the detailed engineering and procurement (EP) of six flotation cells, and on-site support during the construction phase. Service for package PG1, which began on August 1, 2023, is a continuation of the study phase (FEL3) and is expected to be completed in February 2025.
Job Summary:
This role will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, availability and performance of the databases in the S3D system, participating in continuous improvement projects and specialized technical support.
Major Responsibilities:
- Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard plant design and piping engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications
- Planning plant and piping layouts and prepares detailed plant and piping designs and drawings for structures (e.g. load sketches and/or orientation and elevation drawings) and portions of major plants. Examining and analyzes pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME code compliance.
- Preparing plant design and piping designs and construction drawings using 2-D / 3-D computer aided design (CAD), presentation graphics and plant design models and codes.
- Examining and analyzing pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME code compliance.
- Optimizing facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams, client requirements, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements.
- Participating in reviews and recommends approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements.
- Preparing building material interface details for review by senior personnel.
- Participatings in studies that require knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in plant design and piping work.
- Optimizing facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams, client requirements, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements.
- Acquiring knowledge of and utilizes BSAPs, SCPs, and other software, including questioning the output generated by computer programs when the results do not seem reasonable.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Role requires a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related careers. Minimum of 5 years' experience in relational database (RDB) administration, preferably in environments using S3D.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Solid knowledge in database design, implementation, configuration and optimization in the S3D.
- Knowledge in related standards for the generation of technical specifications of materials e.g. ASME, AWWA, ASTM, DIN etc.
- Ability to perform backup, recovery and preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on the system.
- Ability to identify, resolve and document incidents related to the RDB.
- Proficiency in advanced modeling in S3D Desirable: certifications related to database administration or S3D.
- Proficiency in SQL and database management tools.
