Mining and Metals:
Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead the implementation and monitoring of the project quality program, providing technical direction and guidance to peers. You will define and implement quality system tools and procedures, develop metrics and goals, facilitate causal analysis sessions, and oversee design verification, validation, and final inspection activities. This position ensures quality across high-impact project areas that are critical to overall project success.
"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”.
Major Responsibilities:
- Developing, maintaining, and verifying implementation of the project quality assurance program/plan for an assigned project.
- Directing quality activities and their effective implementation, communicating with engineering, supply chain, construction, administrative services, and other project personnel to ensure management goals and objectives are met.
- Coordinating, supervising, and/or participating in the project auditing and monitoring program to verify the effectiveness of the project quality program/plan.
- Leading in monitoring the implementation of the project quality program/plan such as People Based Quality (PBQ), Lessons Learned, Close Loop Corrective Actions, Assessments and Continuous Improvement.
- Defining and implementing quality management system tools and procedures to support work processes.
- Driving the continuous improvement process.
- Managing the project corrective action system.
- Identifying and assessing risk by providing independent technical analysis, guidance, and recommendations to GBU/project leadership.
- Preparing reports on the effectiveness of the quality program/plan implementation.
- Leading the process for onboarding of Bechtel and customer personnel to the program quality management system.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Successful track record of leading teams in complex project environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Assurance requirements and their application to engineering, construction, supply chain, supplier quality, and materials management.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the implementation and management of Quality Management Systems (QMS), particularly aligned with ISO 9001 standards.
- Formal training and experience conducting audits of QMS systems; Lead ISO 9001 Auditor Certification preferred.
- Solid understanding of continuous improvement principles, corrective action processes, and risk management.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing change initiatives and driving continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of the application of corrective and preventive actions to address nonconformities and process deficiencies.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and report quality data, with proficiency in Power BI and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide direction and on-the-job training to assigned personnel.
- Lead Auditor certification from an accredited body (preferred).
- Previous experience in the development and maintenance of quality assurance programs (preferred).
- Flexibility to respond to urgent project requirements and changing priorities (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and disciplines (preferred).
