The Process Specialist Copper/Gold to be part of the Copper Center of Excellence (CCoE) will develop and lead Engineering Studies, e.g. conceptual, scoping, any Study up to PFS. For later Studies such as FS the Process Specialist will form part of the project team as Process Lead. Also, it is expected to take part on site visits, resolve complex operational problems applying specialized engineering, scientific principles and applied technology. The Process Specialist will take part on new technology development and deployment, also will actively participate on conferences, technical group meetings and recognized venues that will contribute to and represent the CCoE.

The Process Specialist will document relevant aspects of his activities and keep up to date project, operational, technology information in the CCoE folder.

Applicants are expected to have 15 years or more of relevant experience in projects and operations of Mineral Processing Plants, including Copper Concentrators and Gold Processing Plants.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as consultant to clients and/or internally to project and specialty engineering or scientific groups providing advice and counsel on special and unique assignments.
  • Review engineering or scientific concepts, studies, drawings, calculations and specifications.
  • Interface with client personnel to determine their needs, develop scope for studies and cost estimates for service and participate in proposal preparation and presentation.
  • Provide guidance and direction to engineering personnel in the development of advanced design criteria and specifications.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of drawings, design concepts, process sheets, procedures and concepts.
  • Perform other duties as required by Bechtel management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university as well as 15+ years of work experience relevant to the industry sector for which the CCoE serves.
  • Thorough understanding of scientific engineering systems, calculations, applications and construction methods and materials, and engineering or scientific application of computers.
  • Understanding of industrial and regulatory standards and design criteria in the engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Knowledge of sector-related design and execution practices and cost influences involved.
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills.
