Bechtel is seeking a HR Advisory Services Lead who will provide support, expertise, and guidance to supervisors and managers in support of their people management activities. The role requires a broad knowledge of HR policy, process and systems, supported by in-depth expertise in one or more HR specialties.  It provides an opportunity to build broader cross-GBU, region, and country HR knowledge and build experience as part of a global service delivery team.  This role is a key focal point and contact for supervisors and managers to assist with HR issues and resolution.  You will coordinate with subject matter experts across all the HR disciplines including L&D, Talent Acquisition, Staffing, Employee Relations, Talent Management, Total Rewards, Data/Reporting and Analytics, etc.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with supervisors and managers across all GBUs to provide consultation and guidance for personnel administration activities
  • Counsel on time and expense policies and processes
  • Engage with senior HR functional specialists to resolve queries for supervisors and managers
  • Manage and expedite resolution of requests from managers and supervisors
  • Provide advice and guidance on global immigration and work visa enquiries from supervisors and managers
  • Support people transaction activities by ensuring accurate and timely completion of transactions in TalentWorks, SAP, and relevant systems
  • Demonstrate knowledge of HR practices, guidelines, and regulations to monitor and provide advice regarding compliance with all employment laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and processes
  • May be involved in HR projects, such as annual total compensation process, to deliver guidance and assistance to managers
  • Provide basic employee relations advice to management and escalates complex issues as needed. Diagnose, coach and /or advise managers on day-to-day concerns related to employee performance, productivity and engagement challenges
  • Collaborate and/or escalate across functions to solve problems, working with others to resolve significant issues, clarify, or interpret complex information, and/ or provide initial problem definition and potential solutions
  • Provide basic reporting data/metrics as requested
  • Manage transactions and provide guidance on matters pertaining to employees on international contract
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the regional advisory services team
  • Act as a point of escalation and source of advice on complex issues


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, plus 3 years of directly related professional HR experience, or 7 years of overall experience in lieu of degree
  • Reporting and ad-hoc query capabilities
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Prior experience managing a team


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Legal right to work in country where the Service Delivery will be performed without visa sponsorship
  • 4 to 8 years of directly related work experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • HR generalist experience within Bechtel or a major multinational employer
  • Employee Benefits Administration
  • Staffing and Recruitment
  • International HR experience including expatriate assignments and relocation, immigration, compensation, and expatriate tax
  • HR employee service center experience
  • Experience working with HRIS systems and HR data, particularly SAP and TalentWorks
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean concepts and practices for process management
  • Ability to speak multiple languages
  • Prior experience living or working as an expatriate outside of country of origin
  • Data analytics skills and abilities
  • Proven knowledge and experience across a broad range of HR work processes, policies, systems, and tools
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Office, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
  • Possess service mindset and ability to build strong relationships
  • Ability to exercise initiative and make decisions with little or no supervision and be accountable for such actions
  • Ability to work in a high-volume transaction environment
  • Proactive, flexible, and adaptive to changing priorities
  • Ability to travel or relocate to temporary or long-term project assignments if needed
