Job Summary:

In this role, with guidance, you will ensure financial processes for office teams are completed with accuracy and compliance. Ensuring that he/she leads by example, promotes teamwork at every occasion, respects others opinions, openly contributes at meetings, does not accept status quo, and upholds fair and ethical behavior with customers in compliance with Bechtel business ethics code.

 

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and/or reviewing tax returns, informative forms and other filing requirements associated with LA Region operations.
  • Preparing and reviewing work papers associated with tax accruals and provisions for local operations, foreign tax credits/ limitations, assessment of deferred tax assets and liabilities for assigned entities and related matters.
  • Compiling information for Transfer Pricing documentation, extracts related accounting data and prepares related work papers.
  • Filling requests for Certificate of Residence for assigned entities and reviews compliance with local regulations for Certificates of Residence received from abroad.
  • Reviewing tax assessments, assisting as necessary with tax queries or audits by tax authorities and assisting with tax objections or appeals.
  • Attending to Tax Office, Municipalities or other authorities’ offices to address their requests/inquiries.
  • Assisting Country Controller / Regional Controller or designated on compliance related matters.
  • Issuing Electronic Invoices, Credit Notes, Debit Notes, and other stat billing documents upon request.
  • Maintaining all aspects of assigned statutory accounting segments. Reconciling the Statutory Accounting records with Corporate Accounting records.
  • Preparing draft financials for medium/large entities assigned and reporting Financial Statements within due dates.
  • Examining a variety of recording and reporting documents to verify accuracy and conformance with specific functional, corporate, contract, government, or professional accounting requirements. Reconciling reports and financial data with other records on file. Points out inconsistencies and errors.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert to support changes to Oracle Localization applications and participates in testing for software changes pertaining to Localization processes.
  • Supporting Internal and External audits. In the performance of the above activities, the Statutory Financial Accountant shall ensure strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Always adhering to due dates for reports and task completion. Giving early warnings of problems or due date difficulties.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a degree of Accountant Auditor with studies in an accredited institution in Chile with at least five years’ experience in Chilean taxation.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Advanced Knowledge of taxation aspects for Chile.
  • Advanced Knowledge of statutory accounting processes in Chile.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be a team player.
  • Intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Desirable English language skills, intermediate level (non-exclusive requirement).
  • Knowledge of Oracle Financials or similar ERP is desirable.
  • Native Spanish.
