Mining and Metals:

Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. Job Summary:

In this role, you will partner with stakeholders to understand the evolutions of the Digital Supply Chain tools. You will consider impacts, risks, and feedback to determine industry best practices, and will update or contribute to the update of governance and guidance, training materials, and Supply Chain work processes. Your insights on end-user adoption will help Program Management ensure Digital Supply Chain tools are meeting requirements. The position will be based in Santiago Chile; some travel to Bechtel locations may be required.


"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Delivering updated Supply Chain work processes and procedures relative to execution of Digital Supply Chain and in alignment with overall Supply Chain Governances and instructions.
  • Gaining understanding of all aspects of Project requirements involved with DSCS implementation, its functionality, structure, business objectives and integration with other systems.
  • Serving as the primary point of contract (POC) for GBU project implementation of DSCS, coordinating implementation of DSCS and third-party software integration as needed and reporting risks and issues that may impact the success of DSCS deployment, and providing insight to the GBU Management and others regarding status of End User adoption, escalating appropriate issues to DSCS Core Team.
  • Being responsible for conforming import data (such as inventory and engineering information that exists in other systems) to DSCS format and standards.
  • Completing light configuration of project requirements (e.g., RFQ templates, maintenance of Key Members, Contract Terms Templates).
  • Delivering End User training to project users on DSCS and modules, and contributing to and creating new Bec-Wiki article as required to help End Users.
  • Management of DSCS system users (Add users to the systems, manage user rights, etc.)
  • Participating in DSCS module user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Driving procurement activities in support of Operational Purchases and Services
  • Managing the bid process, including coordination of bidders, bid evaluations, and recommendations through to awards.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with planning and conducting training classes or providing user desk-side training.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Bechtel Procurement as Buyer.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in DSCS and Unifier.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows based, networked, computing environments.
  • Knowledge of standard office productivity tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, Power Bi.
  • Knowledge of other standard applications used by Engineering, Procurement and Construction.
  • Experience with typical troubleshooting methods.
  • Proficiency and experience in the formation and administration of purchase orders
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including early mornings, late nights and weekends, coordinate with colleagues in various global time zones and locations.
  • Ability to conduct business travel as needed.
  • Forms, issues, and administers purchase orders. Communicates with suppliers to achieve required service and meet project needs.
