Ujina Growth Project:
The mining area is located 185 km southeast of Iquique, at 4,400 meters above sea level, in Tarapacá Region. The main objective of Doña Inés de Collahuasi’s project is to increase the concentrator’s throughput capacity from an average of 170 ktpd to 210 ktpd. Currently, the awarded service corresponds to the execution of Package PG1 - the first of three packages contemplated for this project - which involves the detailed engineering and procurement (EP) of six flotation cells, and on-site support during the construction phase. Service for package PG1, which began on August 1, 2023, is a continuation of the study phase (FEL3) and is expected to be completed in February 2025.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will perform routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and support the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, preparation of cost data, and the project trend program. You will assist with budget allocation and developing quantity takeoffs, project codes, and application unit rates. Your work will help ensure projects stay on budget and excel.
Major Responsibilities:
- Performing routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directed.
- Supporting the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports.
- Assisting with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines.
- Supporting the preparation of cost data for proposals or contracts.
- Assisting in the development of quantity takeoffs for a specific discipline or specialty
- Assisting in developing specific project codes of accounts and recommending appropriate modifications and revisions.
- Supporting the project trend program.
- Assisting in the development and application of unit rates (cost and job hours) to quantity takeoffs.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in Project Control/Cost Management.
- Experience in management and reporting of KPIs related to the budget control of a project.
- Experience in dealing with other areas of the project and have the ability to integrate and manage the information received.
- Management of PowerBI, MS Office at an Intermediate Level.
- Ability to work in a team and be proactive.
