Ujina Growth Project:

The mining area is located 185 km southeast of Iquique, at 4,400 meters above sea level, in Tarapacá Region. The main objective of Doña Inés de Collahuasi’s project is to increase the concentrator’s throughput capacity from an average of 170 ktpd to 210 ktpd. Currently, the awarded service corresponds to the execution of Package PG1 - the first of three packages contemplated for this project - which involves the detailed engineering and procurement (EP) of six flotation cells, and on-site support during the construction phase. Service for package PG1, which began on August 1, 2023, is a continuation of the study phase (FEL3) and is expected to be completed in February 2025.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will lead a team to manage subcontracts and monitor operations. You will develop the subcontracting strategy, operating procedures, staffing plan, and the contracts section of the Project Execution Plan. You will review and approve bid details, commitments, and negotiations. Your oversight will ensure project subcontracting is consistent and that requirements have been implemented.

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”.

Major Responsibilities:

• Participating with the project team on a small to medium sized project in defining and developing the scope of Contracts work, and in preparing and coordinating Contracts plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets. 
• Preparing and/or directing preparation of commercial terms and conditions for use on project contract documents, ensuring that requirements of the prime contract are incorporated. 
• Participating in the development of the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule and the division of responsibility. 
• Coordinating Contract execution plan with Engineering and Construction plans and operations to ensure that input from these disciplines will enable Contracts to perform its functions in accordance with project plans. 
• Reviewing evaluations with global business unit functional managers and the global business unit Manager of Supply Chain. 
• Managing the Subcontract for a contract of low to medium risk or complexity. 
• Providing functional direction and/or supervision to all assigned subcontracts personnel and monitors operations to ensure all activities are performed in accordance with project requirements and applicable directives, management instruction, procedures, and functional guidelines. 
• Developing and implementing the subcontracting strategy for assigned project or office, incl. development and translation of the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule into a specific working contracting plan. 
• Reviewing bid tabulations for accuracy, bidder recommendation, completeness, and approving selection of bidders within delegated approval authority. 
• Ensuring all commitments made by subordinate personnel are accurately presented and follow established approval and signing authorities contained in company policies and procedures. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires Engineering Degree in any of its areas, preferably in the areas of construction or business administration (or international equivalent), and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Previous experience in the role on major projects.
• Experience in the formation of contracts of greater complexity in all phases of bidding.
• Current or previous experience at Bechtel.
• Ability to draft and/or review contract terms and conditions and project procedures.
• Flexibility to adapt to workload and priorities.
• Ability to meet demanding work deadlines.
• Organization in documentation and record keeping.
• MS Office domain.
