Contract Formation / Administration Specialist

SUMMARY

Perform the contract formation of Technicals Services complexity contracts and the management to ensure the effective administration of these contracts.  Responsible for implementation of the Standard Work Process Procedures and automated (sub)contract management systems..

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  1. Responsible for the development and implementation of the Project Techincal Services program for the project consistent with the Standard Work Process and the Contract Formation and Contract Administration procedures.
  2. Analyze the contract general terms and conditions to highlight areas of risk such as ambiguities, conflicts or deviations from bidders.  Make recommendations to the Contract Manager on these deviations to negotiate them with bidders.
  3. As works proceeds, make recommendations on risk mitigation measures. Closely monitor and support remedial actions and recommend appropriate tradeoffs.
  4. Responsible for the development and management of appropriate mechanisms to monitor compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  5. Responsible for working with the other Project Team members to ensure that Bechtel or customer related actions or inactions which could result in constructive contract changes are identified and make recommendations on their resolution.
  6. Mantain an updated schedule of the Techincal Services contracts.
  7. Provide Contract Manager with reviews and analysis of the contracts progresses and financial data.
  8. Responsible for adherence to (sub)contract insurance provisions and to ensure implementation of any requirements in this regard with Regional and Corporate Risk Management personnel.

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE

Degree in Engineering or Construction Management is a requirement.

5 to 8 years experience.

Knowledge in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, administration and negotiation of change orders, effective correspondence, planning and scheduling

Thorough knowledge of contract administration.

Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices, applicable government and commercial regulations and practices, and Bechtel policies, procedures and work practices

Salary will be based on current market rates and the posted grade will not be adjusted to suit the successful candidate.
