Mining and Metals:

Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will manage direct reports and lead interdisciplinary teams to establish construction methods and support activities. You will oversee the construction process, review plans and specifications for costs and constructability, manage corporate processes and procedures, and lead proposal preparation. Your recommendations for studies, lessons learned, project assessments, and new methods will optimize completion of project construction activities.

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”.

Major Responsibilities:

• Providing consultation, technical guidance and direction to Construction and other support functions.
• Managing the successful completion of activities related to the construction of assigned projects.
• Assisting in development of standard construction method.
• Overseing the review of standard plans and specifications for constructability.
• Reviewing and evaluates new methods and concepts.
• Leading in proposal preparation.
• Reviewing construction estimates, budgets, forecasts, schedules, and costs for acceptability.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience or 19+ years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Extensive background in industrial construction projects, managing staff, providing leadership, maintaining good client relationships, and developing talent within the project.
• Knowledge & demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
• Knowledge of EPCM contract management. Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.
• Must be familiar with current industry quality standards.
• Cross function experience in another function such as engineering, procurement, contracts, etc is preferred, but not required.
• General knowledge of performance management processes & planning.
• General knowledge of cost management including estimating and forecast development.
• Advanced communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Mining Industry experience, EPC-EPCM. Bechtel experience. Work at site experience.
