Administrator Project Acquisition Applications

Job Summary 

Bechtel Engineering function is looking for professionals with Acquisition applications experience on medium to large M&M projects to support the role of “ Administrator, Acquisition BSAPS” on project.

“Super User, Acquisition BSAPS” (AD)will be assigned Engineering Automation Group in Santiago office and may require travelling to project offices on a short term. AD will report to Engineering Automation Lead.

The candidate shall have extensive experience on medium to large M&M projects and be able to provide input/Support/Administration identifying and implementing Engineering applications opportunities to maximize the benefits to projects.


  • Drive standardization of Acquisition applications, standards and investments across the GBU

  • Manage Engineering Acquisition applications Oracle Agile and Hexagon E&PI (SmartPlant Materials ) for use with Digital Supply Chain System on M&M projects

  • Provide support and coordination to the GBU and projects regarding Acquisition applications

  • Coordinate with the GBU chief workshops via the Engineering Automation Manager to ensure alignment of acquisition applications with both the engineering work process owners and automation teams

  • Align M&M Automation investment roadmaps with corporate strategic goals and related initiatives and critical business needs of the GBUs and their customers

  • Optimize the M&M Automation support model and resources to ensure consistent delivery of support services per agreed business service levels; Work with Global Support Organization (GSO) and Service Center to develop an appropriate support structure and ensure customers receive adequate support

  • Actively coordinate with other M&M automation professionals on GBU initiatives

  • Manage Acquisition application integration standards and procedures, with the mandate to suggest revisions in accordance with newly issued or revised procedures

  • Develop a roadmap for Acquisition applications; considering current, short and long-term views

  • Interface with the Digital Enterprise Program (DEP) and represent Engineering’s data/process requirements where required

  • Champion Engineering’s Acquisition applications scope in Bechtel’s Advance Work Packaging [AWP] and the automation requirements for successful deployment of AWP across the GBU

  • Collaborate with the project Acquisition SMEs to evaluate modern technologies for adoption and integration

  • Manage the budget and schedule of deliverables for Acquisition applications

  • Responsible for the documentation and understanding of all integration points regarding Acquisition applications with external systems.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, IT, Management, Systems or Computer Science.

  • Intermediate knowledge of other Bechtel work process and applications (cross-functional).

  • Ability to identify cross functional and cross disciple problems and provide innovative solutions.

  • Leadership and soft skills to effectively work with the M&M Automation team ensuring a smooth operation of Bechtel’s Acquisition applications.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Good understanding of EPC work process and cross-functional relationships.

  • Know how to resolve complex technical issues within both engineering automation and our engineering departments.

  • Know how to manage complex technical discussions with third parties (customer, suppliers, and regulators) to facilitate appropriate technical decisions.

  • Working knowledge of data management.

  • Working knowledge of Bechtel’s Acquisition Applications.

  • Good understanding of the GBU integration applications, GBU standards, and EPC work processes.


  • Previous experience in a Supervisory role.

  • Good knowledge of SQl lenguaje, .Net and Database and OS administration

  • Good knowledge of Digital Supply Chain System.

  • Good knowledge of both GBU and corporate procedures.

  • Good knowledge of budget and schedule requirements.

  • Good Knowledge of Advance Work Packaging.

  • Good working knowledge of industry codes and standards.

  • Good understanding of the EPC functions integration applications, GBU standards, and EPC work processes.
