Bechtel, as part of the Northrop Grumman Corp. team, is preparing to deliver the U.S. Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) system of inter-continental ballistic missiles and launch infrastructure. GBSD is a vital U.S. Air Force program designed to modernize the nation’s aging force of inter-continental ballistic missiles, which make up the ground element of the nuclear deterrent. As part of the Northrop Grumman GBSD nationwide team, Bechtel will provide launch system design, construction, and integration.

Position Overview:

Responsible for supporting Field Supervision and Field Engineering organizations as needed. Duties include, but not limited to, ensuring that material availability supports the project construction schedule, maintaining inspection documentation, assisting in the preparation of work packages, and maintaining the installation status of components within project databases. This project may have multiple work schedules that are subject to change and may require employees to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and/or night shift when a business need arises.


Responsibilities include:

  • Create Field Purchase Requisitions and Store Requisition Reports.
  • Use the construction schedule to identify material requirements and potential restraints.
  • Review documentation and database entries for accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to use data and software to determine the status of on-site material to support construction needs.
  • Coordination with Warehousing for receipt, release and delivery of materials.
  • Work closely with Field Engineering, Superintendents and craft employees to ensure a quality product is delivered.
  • Record, scan and organize all requests and inspection documents.
  • Tracks inspection documents through review and closure process.
  • Distribute and track document numbers. Maintain inspection documentation within discipline for plan and specification compliance.
  • Report quantities installed.
  • Perform various data extraction and report generation.
  • Review documentation and various database entries for accuracy and consistency.
  • Support the preparation of construction drawings and schedules.


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of work experience.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be physically capable to conduct field inspections and participate in project walkdowns which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, climbing in very small and/or confined spaces, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment and education.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets and database applications.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Knowledge of basic construction principles.
  • Working knowledge of Access, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two-year college degree.
  • Possess a high degree of individual initiative, flexibility, diplomacy, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn and quickly adapt to new processes, procedures, and software.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and easily adjust priorities.
  • Possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team or as an individual contributor.
  • Awareness of government compliance standards and environmental compliance laws and requirements.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Safety Program.
