Senior Planning Engineer (International Assignment)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible to implement in the Entities/Ministries the project management processes and procedures that relate to planning and scheduling, through coaching, training and mentoring.

Strong “hands on” planning and scheduling experience is essential. So are collaborative, coaching and consultative skills.

Full time position based in Riyadh.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partners with the Mashroat organization to develop an integrated talent development and knowledge transfer strategy with the aim to fulfill the vision and mission of serving the ministries and entities to build world class Project Management competency based on Saudi nationals
  • Work with the Enablement Project Managers to lead and drive the entity engagement plans for Entities with medium to large PMC’s
  • Work with the Entities in order to provide oversight, analysis, guidance and direction on international best practice with respect to planning, scheduling, progress measurement and reporting
  • Enable Entities/Ministries to Plan and Schedule Engineering and Construction projects
  • Deliver the Planning and Scheduling Training Course
  • Engage with other work streams; Delayed projects, Special projects, ad-hoc exercises as requested
  • Maintain and update the Mashroat planning and scheduling processes, procedures and templates
  • Provide Mashroat with operational support

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrate leadership
  • Proficiency in using PC operating systems and several basic software applications. Proficiency in using multiple discipline-specific software applications currently used by Bechtel (e.g., Ecosys, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project).
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to facilitate learning sessions and small group activities

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent and 9 years of professional work experience in project controls with emphasis on planning and scheduling engineering on large scale construction projects
