Project Overview:
Bechtel has been involved over the last 80 years in some of the world’s busiest and most complex airport projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield developments. In the GCC, we have held significant roles on King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat international airports. As we consider the future of aviation globally and in the GCC, we are very enthusiastic about the future of aviation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
We are currently considering candidates with aviation, other transportation or complex public accessible building project experience to provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial and construction management) for a major infrastructure project in Riyadh should it be awarded to Bechtel. This posting serves as an expression of interest only.
Job Summary:
In this position, you will lead a team to manage cost engineering, cost estimating, cost analysis/control, forecasting, and planning/scheduling activities for a project that requires technical skill and expertise. You will provide leadership, oversight, guidance, training, and mentoring to your team on key project procedures and risk management to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
Major Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and collaborates with the customer PMO to develop and maintain regular reporting and dashboards for assigned program and projects
- Provides oversight and management of assigned Reporting specialists
- Reviewing and understanding all relevant project documents relating to cost, schedule and progress control of program of works
- Reviewing cost commitment and expenditure information for input to computerized cost control and reporting system
- Producing cost and schedule status reports and advising management of any forecast cost overruns and schedule delays/concerns
- Maintaining accessible program performance registers and dashboards
- Develops data capture approaches to monitor and report on program KPIs
- Performs any other duties as directed by the Project Controls Director or Project Director
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly Finance reports, including multiple currency analysis, cashflows, hedge program, earnings methodologies, cost and revenue etc.
- Assists with Prime Contract Management for Bechtel Project Services, including unit rate inflation and Key Personnel
- Assists in the management of the Project’s Organization and Staffing plans
- Coordinates and collaborates with various teams to support and deliver all of the Project’s internal reporting e.g. Monthly Dashboards, Briefing Papers, Quarterly Updates etc.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Level 1
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Level 2
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of Project and construction market in terms of contractors, suppliers and cost management
- Knowledge/experience in project controls and quantity surveying
- Strong communication, leadership, planning and organization skills
- Proven ability to develop practical 'close to real time' reporting dashboards, collaborating data from multiple sources and allowing role up-role down between individual areas, projects and programs of work
- Proven ability to manage a multicultural team of reporting specialist across multiple projects within a program of work
- Previous experience of collaborating closely with customer organizations and teams to ensure coordination of work product with customer requirements
- Expert knowledge and use of business intelligence software, including Power BI or similar
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to assess large and complex data and worksheets, and
- Proficiency in English (required)
- Chartered Quantity Surveyor / Membership in professional associations e.g. AACE, RICS or similar (advantage)
- Knowledge of international cost management standards e.g. CSI Master Format, BCIS, GIFA (advantage)
- Knowledge of ASTM E2516-11 Standard Classification for Cost Estimate Classification System, AACE International Recommended Practice (advantage)
- Knowledge of Cost Estimation, Cost Management, Project and Document Management Software such as Aconex, OpenText, Newforma etc.
- Experience working within KSA highly preferred
