Project Overview:
Bechtel has been involved over the last 80 years in some of the world’s busiest and most complex airport projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield developments. In the GCC, we have held significant roles on King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat international airports. Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company has been appointed to provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial, and construction management) for the development of a state of the art international airport in the city of Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. King Salman International Airport will have a capacity of up to 120 million travellers by 2030 and 185 million travellers by 2050, and the capacity to process up to 3.5 million tons of cargo by 2050. Bechtel will provide PMC services for three new terminals; Terminal 6 is a new build ‘low cost carrier’ – hyper efficient terminal with gross floor area of ≈450,000m2, capacity of 20mppa; Iconic Terminal is a new build ‘new concept’ terminal with gross floor area of ≈ 1M m2, capacity of 40 to 45 mppa, and Private Aviation Terminal and hangars for VIPs and business jet passengers.
Job Summary:
The Reporting Manager must combine a breadth of expertise across the cost and schedule disciplines. Will be responsible for the development, coordination, and maintenance of dashboards and other reporting tools at the project level across the Master Planning, Engineering and Construction phases. Also supervises cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and schedule integration needs of the project. Identifies restraints and cost trends for management attention. May review invoices for correct collection of revenue. Responsible for cost engineering, cost estimating, and cost analysis/control activities. The Reporting Manager will be a key member of the project team and will report to the Project Controls Manager.
Major Responsibilities:
- Works under senior management to support leadership in Project Controls activities.
- Contributes input for the weekly project action items list. Maintains project databases and prepares required reports.
- Provides additional supervision for Project Controls tasks. Coordinates routine cost engineering, planning, and scheduling needs for projects.
- Identifies project restraints and evaluates their impact on the overall project schedule.
- Coordinates with all departments to ensure alignment on total project schedule requirements.
- Identifies schedule considerations and challenges caused by inter‑discipline or functional interfaces.
- Monitors and reports on the project’s critical path and overall schedule performance.
- Collects and analyzes options for schedule improvements and presents them to the project team.
- Coordinates cost recording, monitoring, and reporting practices to ensure compliance with standards.
- Supports the preparation of specific project budgets following established procedures.
- Coordinates and participates in project risk reviews.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training for both technical and non‑technical personnel.
- Statistical knowledge in sampling, distributions, probability, and hypothesis testing for metrics.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Earned Value principles for progress measurement and reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of reporting tools and analytics, especially Power BI and MS Excel.
- Proficiency with PC operating systems and multiple basic software applications.
- Proficiency with discipline‑specific software used at Bechtel (e.g., EcoSys, Primavera, Microsoft Office applications).
- Knowledge of financial reporting systems and controller account codes.
- Understanding of controller instructions impacting Project Controls, such as Project Financial Status Reports and Earned Revenue Determination Data.
