Project Manager - Metro Project

You will be assigned to the East Depot/ North Depot/South Depot in a managerial position, you will be responsible for the organization and direction of construction activities within the jobsite. As Project Manager you may: Coordinate with client’s resident representatives on his jobsite to ensure that the jobsite operations are in compliance with the issued design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards, Provide technical and administrative direction to the Construction Manager / superintendents, field engineers, coordinators, administrators and others, assigned to the jobsite.

The ideal candidate shall be responsible to maintain a relationship with ADA & RMTC representatives on site, H.O. Engineering, subcontractors, suppliers, project management and project functions (ES&H, Security, QA/QC, FE, Procurement & Contracts, Project Controls, etc…) and local government authorities as required.

1.    Jobsite operations including onsite activities of CWJV, TS, subcontractors, suppliers, ADA & RMTC representatives and Local authorities.  
2.    Ensure ES&H, Security, quality and schedule of the jobsite is maintained.
3.    Overall supervision of personnel including:

  • Review the staffing plans and make recommendations to Delivery Director (DD) to meet the objectives of the scope 
  • Review resumes of key personnel assigned to the area of responsibility

4.    Establishes, coordinates and implements construction schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements. 
6.    Controls jobsite expenditures in assigned area for labor, equipment, material and services and ensures field operations are within budget.
7.    Ensures performance evaluations are conducted on assigned personnel and counselling programs are maintained.
8.    Ensures subordinate personnel receive progressive training to enable them to assume additional responsibilities.
9.    Responsible for craft resources as assigned and coordinates the activities of direct reports /managers and CWJV hub craft resources department.
10.    Administers security plan and coordinates the activities with CWJV security department.
11.    Responsible for administration of assigned area(s) contractual activities.  Participates in contracts and subcontracts negotiations.
12.    Plans and implements procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules and budget.
13.    Responsible for coordination of construction operations to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
14.    Maintains relationships with the client and their representatives, as assigned.
15.    Ensures that CWJV and local/national regulatory safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with in assigned area of responsibility.  Ensures the Zero Accident Philosophy is incorporated into all aspects of construction operations.  Actively participates in scheduled safety meetings.  Make daily project walks to insure ES&H standards are being maintained.
16.    Implements Six Sigma tools, analysis, and decision-making in the executive of duties.
17.    Ensures CWJV policies and procedures are fully implemented.  
18.    Make recommendation to the DD for safety inspections and QA Audits.
19.    Prepare want lists for H.O. Engineering and CWJV Hub for material and drawing needs.
20.    Keep prepared for making presentations in: ES&H, Security, Quality, Schedule / Progress, Items of concern/action to resolve

21.    Coordinate with counterpart in CWJV over interface issues and construction priorities.
22.    Review adequacy of construction equipment and make recommendations to DD if equipment available or planned does not meet schedule requirements.
23.    Review progress on weekly basis and advise DD of concerns.
24.    Keep DD fully informed of significant activities /violations:

  • ES&H, Security & Quality
  • Progress Milestone status
  • Material Deliveries
  • Engineering document needs
  • Manual and non-manual staffing status.
  • Construction equipment status


Job Knowledge:

Knowledge of all phases of construction operations relating to field activities of engineering disciplines, construction technologies and jobsite management.

Knowledge of the Zero Accident Philosophy.

Knowledge of the Project ES&H Plans and procedures.

Knowledge of the Project Construction Environmental Control Plan.

Knowledge of the Six Sigma program tools and methodologies.

Prior work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge described above.


Approve time sheets for personnel assigned to the area of supervision by deadlines of each month or earlier
Allocate vehicles among personnel to suit project needs.
Coordinate R & R and Home Leave Schedules for personnel to insure proper coverage of work at all times.  Reviews schedule with DD monthly.
Provide input to weekly and monthly progress reports for CWJV.  Input required noon Saturday of each week.
Participate in weekly site meetings with Subcontractors.
Review CWJV staffing plan with DD on a monthly basis.
Chairs the daily “Plan of the Day” (POD) with his site team and communicates the critical /key issues daily to the DD 
Chairs progress review meeting with Subcontractors.
Prepares employee evaluations of personnel 
Assigns responsibility for construction input for historical report.
