Project Overview:
The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village.
The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah - Riyadh highway.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Project Electrical Engineer to join our team working on high-voltage transmission and substation scope to support the connection of the Ar Rjum Project to the Saudi Arabian National Grid.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the aspects of project execution, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and client and stakeholder requirements in a PMC role for a new 57km Transmission Line and 110kV Substation.
Major Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise engineering subcontractor activities for a EHV transmission line and substation project.
- Provides technical assistance and interact with other project functions, the client and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues.
- Provide assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project requirements and in addressing and managing risk as it arises during project execution.
- Review and provide constructive feedback for designs, drawings, and technical documents.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, construction, commissioning, vendors, client and other stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC)/National Grid (NG) standards, project specifications and procedures.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Liaise with clients, contractor, and vendors to resolve technical issues.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and participate in inspections and testing as required.
- Provide field engineering, construction and commissioning support during the construction phase of the project.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
- Preferential will be in field experience across either EPCM and/or EPC execution models on major, complex projects.
- Work experience on EHV Transmission Lines and Substations in Saudi Arabia or other GCC countries.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills.
- Proficient planning and problem-solving skills.
- Proven customer relationship skills are essential.
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program or similar.
- Knowledge of Saudi Electric Company (SEC)/National Grid (NG) Standards Procedures and Grid Code.
- Knowledge of HCIS and SAF requirements.
