Project Overview:

The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village. The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah – Riyadh highway. 

Job Summary:

Bechtel Global Logistics (BGL) is seeking a project Logistics Specialist based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia  to support the above project. The home office –Logistics Specialist will be responsible to have minimal supervision of less experienced logistics personnel and assist in the logistics responsibilities on project. The Logistics Specialist is responsible for Performs work as a Logistics technical, estimating, operations or commercial role supporting a moderate/large sized project with a complex scope as a deployed, dedicated resource in the field.   This role also includes preparation of bid proposals, request for quotation for Execution – including freight estimates, budgets and assist in the preparation of deliverable documentation; Project Logistics Execution Plans - Module Transportation Study, international and remote multimodal logistics.   

Major Responsibilities:

• Performs work as a Logistics technical, estimating and commercial role supporting a moderate/large sized project with complex scope as a deployed, dedicated resource in the field office.
• Prepares Logistics Service Provider (LSP) commercial packages, including Request for Quotation (RFQ), commercial and technical analysis/evaluation, bid tabs, commitment authorizations and contract documents.  Also contract administration of LSP packages.
• Performs domestic and international multi-leg shipment responsibilities in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements
• Coordinates shipments with requisite internal and external entities
• Ensures entry of shipment tracking data into Transportation Management System (TMS) and other functional systems/tools to provide visibility shipment status
• Prepares logistics reports or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements
• Ensures audit and processing of Logistics Service Provider invoices in accordance with project procedures
• Identifies transport cost and service alternatives to support materials/equipment purchase decisions and use of Logistics Service Providers
• Assists the project Logistics Lead as requested with capacity to provider short-term leadership
• Files and resolves Logistics Service Provider claims
• Prepares logistics studies including site and Logistics Service Provider facility

• Integrates safety requirements and measures in all logistics activities.
• Assists Project Logistics Lead to develop logistics costs, job hour requirements and reports for project or functional budget formation and management.
• Interacts with project management to review logistics strategies in consideration of cost, risk, and schedule assessments
• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
• Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Networks and connects with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
• Minimal supervision with latitude for judgment
• May assist less-experienced team members

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 to 10 years of relevant experience or 12 to 14 years of relevant work experience. 
• Home, Field and deployed project experience preferred.
• Experience with medium to large scale projects highly regarded.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Career-level position within field
• Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline
• Seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization, resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways
• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors

• Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Networks and connects with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
• Minimal supervision with latitude for judgment
• May assist less-experienced team members
• Proficient in speaking and writing English and Arabic advantageous
• Knowledge of Saudi Arabia (country) importing and exporting formalities and processes.
• Knowledge of and experience in multimodal transport modes – airfreight, sea freight; containerized, LCL, breakbulk, barging, and domestic transportation – including oversize/over mass.
• Knowledge of and experience in marine conveyance chartering
• Knowledge of domestic and international trade and delivery terms,
• Knowledge of industry packing, making, and shipping requirements
• Knowledge and practical understanding of Incoterms (2020) 
• Commercial and contractual acumen
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite of applications – Outlook, Teams, Word, Powerpoint, and Excel
