Project Overview:

Bechtel has been involved over the last 80 years in some of the world’s busiest and most complex airport projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield developments. In the GCC, we have held significant roles on King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat international airports. As we consider the future of aviation globally and in the GCC, we are very enthusiastic about the future of aviation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
We are currently considering candidates with aviation, other transportation or complex public accessible building project experience to provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial and construction management) for a major infrastructure project in Riyadh.

Job Summary:

This position requires a strong ability to develop innovative GIS solutions for the construction industry, aligned with both client and Bechtel GIS strategies. The role demands deep expertise in ESRI technology to support BIM/GIS use-cases across disciplines and a clear understanding of system integration to achieve project objectives.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage GIS maps using ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap to support construction, logistics, safety, and other project functions in a PMC environment.
  • Coordinate with project departments to design and implement GIS applications, including needs analysis, data modeling, programming, testing, and rollout.
  • Manage geospatial databases and ensure interoperability with BIM/CAD tools (e.g., Revit, Civil3D, 2D CAD) to enhance project lifecycle value.
  • Perform data capture, analysis, and quality assurance for GIS products, including supplier deliverables per client GIS requirements.
  • Configure and control project GIS systems in alignment with Exchange Information Requirements (EIR).
  • Support field data collection workflows using Survey123, drones, and LiDAR for approved use-cases.
  • Integrate multiple data sources into the GIS portal and use them for reporting, dashboarding, and trend analysis.
  • Maintain accurate geospatial documentation and stay current with GIS technology developments.
  • Enable project sustainability initiatives through GIS tools such as story maps and stakeholder engagement platforms.
  • Contribute to complex project planning and bids by developing technical approaches, process maps, and execution plans.
  • Perform Quality Assurance Checks on suppliers to ensure supply chain deliverables meet client GIS requirement per the EIR and GIR.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires B.A. or B.S. in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years (or) 8+ years of experience as a GIS Specialist, GIS Analyst, or a related field with demonstrated capabilities in GIS.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have Experience using the Esri suite of products including ArcGIS Server Advanced or ArcGIS Enterprise, and Esri Apps including (Survey 123, Collector, Field Worker) required.
  • Experience of Esri ArcGIS desktop software, including ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro
  • Experience integrating with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D preferred.
  • Must have experience in developing web-based GIS applications.
  • Experience working with variety of vector and raster datasets from public and private sources
  • Knowledge in the use of various software applications including ArcTools and Model Builder.
  • Knowledge of cartographic procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of geography and various methods references common to GIS applications, such as coordinate systems and mapping standards.
  • Knowledge of trends and standards of the GIS industry, and relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Experience in programming language (HTML, JavaScript, Python. etc.) is preferred.
  • Experience with data modeling, data conversion and ETL Software such as FME is preferred.
