Project Overview:

Bechtel has been involved over the last 80 years in some of the world’s busiest and most complex airport projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield developments. In the GCC, we have held significant roles on King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat international airports. As we consider the future of aviation globally and in the GCC, we are very enthusiastic about the future of aviation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

We are currently considering candidates with aviation, other transportation or complex public accessible building project experience to provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial and construction management) for a major infrastructure project in Riyadh.
 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide the Electrical Field Engineer in Project Field Engineering (PFE) group to support work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover. Your work will contribute to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports the lead discipline engineer in coordinating the technical resolution and ensure compliance by the contractors, ensuring works are carried out as per the drawings, specifications and standards, as per schedule and ensure compliance with ES&H plans, quality standards and local/national regulatory safety codes
  • Supports and coordinates across disciplines and with Engineering to provide timely and accurate information for the Construction teams.
  • Monitor compliance of the contractor’s work, report on project status, schedule, change management systems. From time to time, will need to work across disciplines.
  • Supports the Lead Engineer for site-based technical coordination with contractors, engineers, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Support the Leads Engineer in providing input to ensure continuous construction work fronts availability through review of look ahead schedules, commodity charts, resource charts, engineering deliverables, material delivery schedules and any other service requirements including contractor submittals
  • Verifies compliance with Permit and License requirements
  • Organizes meeting on request of the lead engineer and minutes the meeting and follow up on the actions and report back.
  • Assist and provide feedback to contractor's submittals, technical queries, Field change documents and other technical documents including Drawings and As-Builts
  • Ensure all materials and equipment on the site fully comply with international standard and technical specification requirements
  • Ensure the closure of project is systematic and complete in all respects
  • Maintains an effective relationship with other functional departments and coordinates all jobsite contractual activities
  • Coordinates and monitors interface with other contractors and reviews the Contractors meetings notes and daily reports. 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience​

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills at varying levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence outcomes and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Must be a self-starter and highly motivated to succeed. Demonstrated skill in identifying, analysing and solving problems.
  • Previous, related, working experience in the middle east is highly preferred.
