Project Overview:
Bechtel have engineered, managed, and delivered some of Saudi Arabia’s most signature projects, from Ras Tanura, the first oil refinery in 1943 to major projects such as the Riyadh Metro Project, the National Project Management, Operation and Maintenance Organization, and the Jubail Industrial City. Bechtel has made a commitment to support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and develop local talent to sustain long-term economic development for the Kingdom.
We are currently considering candidates with experience of managing and delivering large scale public and building utilities, to work with Bechtel and provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial and construction management) for Riyadh Expo 2030.
Job Summary:
The Construction Logistics Manager provides oversight and direction to the Contractor for construction logistics elements related to the infrastructure scope at EXPO Riyadh 2030, as well as liaising with the Client, internal PMC team members and other PMC’s in order to ensure that the programme related construction logistics required are being catered for. They are responsible for protecting and promoting the interests and values of the company in all matters and to take actions as required to satisfy responsibilities. Strong and committed to delivering on safety on site operations and to all aspects of high quality on the scope of works. The Logistics Construction Manager brings knowledge and experience in setting up Civils projects in constrained, fast paced environments with multiple stakeholders; is responsible for coordination of interfaces between internal and external customers, Contractors and managing performance of the works to meet schedules and milestones. Needs to be a self-starter, be able to work unsupervised and promotes a culture of collaborative teamwork.
The Construction Logistics Manager reports to the Delivery Director and will work closely with the Package Manager’s to oversee the establishment and management of Contractors’ work areas and undertake activities, such as planning, directing, coordinating the activities of contractors, selecting contractors, and monitoring performance.
Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning and compliance monitoring of logistics operations in the context of the objectives for the assigned project(s), including movements of construction materials, fuels, equipment, people, waste
- Understands the contract requirements for project logistics within the construction contracts for their assigned areas
- Configuration management of logistics facilities and services, taking actions where existing plans are found to be ineffective or in need of improvement
- Provides reports and advertises presentations to management relating to existing, emerging or changing logistics planning.

- Develop and manage the Land Allocation Permit process for temporary allocation between Contractors and PMC’s.
- Plan and review the construction project and contractors’ submittals with the Package Manager/s and ensure that logistics related elements are adequate to suit the site requirements
- Supports and monitors ES&H, conducts joint safety inspections with Contractor’s senior staff and participate in the clients' ES&H programs and ensure compliance to local/national regulatory safety codes
- Supports the Delivery Director, Package Managers and Construction Managers in managing the contracts awarded by the client in the field and ensure that the contractual obligations in relation to logistics are met by the contractors
- Mentor, motivate, manage, and act as a role-model for the team and contractors in terms of behaviours and values and monitor their performance
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A recognised degree in civil engineering and/or equivalent qualification in construction management
- Minimum 20 years of experience in constrained, fast paced environments with multiple stakeholders
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Has proven experience and thorough knowledge of construction logistics on large-scale projects
- Experience in KSA / Middle east / GCC is a requirement and preferably currently working in KSA with a transferable Iqama
- Must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including the client, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle
- Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment, with a passion to take ownership of projects and provide sound technical leadership to contractor’s staff and construction engineers
- Experience of managing construction logistics on large civil infrastructure projects
- Ideally familiar with working knowledge of Bechtel safety and security philosophies and process on the construction site
