Project Overview:
Spanning over 14 million square meters of land, the New Murabba development is planned as a premier modern downtown destination in Riyadh. It is envisioned to deliver an exceptional blend of leisure, retail, entertainment and residential experiences, while supporting the Royal Commission for Riyadh City’s goal of establishing Riyadh among the world’s top ten cities. The project aligns with key priorities such as economic growth fostering advancements in technology, innovation and creativity.
Bechtel’s role at the New Murabba development is Early Works, Infrastructure and Public Realm. The Early Works involves the initial set up on the project, from fencing, offices to logistics and construction indirect.
The infrastructure work covers earthworks, expressways, roads, metro, power, water, sewage, district cooling, irrigation, automated waste collection, telecommunications and all other utilities required for the city to function smoothly. As for the expansive areas of Public Realm, it’s inclusive of all the landscaping, hardscaping, water features, lighting and public art.

Job Summary:
University Hire will be primarily responsible for supporting various construction activities with an objective of strengthening individual's knowledge about Construction practices followed globally.
Field engineers work in multi-disciplinary teams and provide support to the design for a variety of industry projects. Field engineers at Bechtel also provide technical direction to superintendents and craft workers to complete our projects safely, efficiently, and cost effectively, while meeting required technical and quality standards. As a field engineer at Bechtel, you’ll have the opportunity to work in various disciplines, such as civil, electrical, mechanical, piping, instrumentation, welding, and quality.

Major Responsibilities:
Planning / Productivity
- Assists in the preparation of construction drawings and sketches.
- Assists in the development of planning construction methods and procedures.
- Assists in the development of projections and schedules for workforce, material, and equipment requirements
Safety / Quality
- Monitors installation of materials and equipment to ensure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements
- Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
Technical
- Assists supporting Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
- Assists in the coordination of engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
- Assists in coordinating with Design on constructability issues.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university within the past twelve (12) months.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA
- Prior co-op or internship experience.
- Practical work experience in a construction environment.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
