Project Overview:
Bechtel has been involved over the last 80 years in some of the world’s busiest and most complex airport projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield developments. In the GCC, we have held significant roles on King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat international airports. As we consider the future of aviation globally and in the GCC, we are very enthusiastic about the future of aviation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We are currently considering candidates with aviation experience, or other transportation or complex public building project experience to provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial and construction management) for a major airport development project in Riyadh.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will undertake and assist architectural activities on a large airport project. You will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (CAD) to develop architectural designs and construction drawings for small structures when needed. You will help prepare forecasts, quantity take-offs, and change orders. Your review and recommendations of subcontractor's design drawings will help ensure that architectural deliverables comply with project requirements.
Major Responsibilities:
- Plans and participates in the day-to-day architectural activity related to the deliverables for the airport complex.
- Plans architectural layouts, supports detailed architectural design and layout drawings for small structures
- Assists in the preparation of specifications and related documents
- Participates in design reviews of design drawings and data prepared by others for compliance with requirements
- Assists in the preparation of architectural designs and construction drawings using 2-D / 3-D computer aided design (CAD), presentation graphics and architectural models
- Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines
- Participates in studies that require knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in architectural work
- Assists in preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders
- Reviews project designs and plans using Adobe, Revit, Revizto, AutoCAD, Navisworks and/or other design and BIM collaboration software.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of architectural design, production techniques, building materials, specifications, building codes/standards, international codes/ standards, and construction methods.
- Knowledge of current industry and regulatory standards and general design criteria pertinent to architectural work
- Experience in supporting the preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, proposals, value engineering studies, or alternate technical concepts
- Experience in coordinating and reviewing complex architectural work on large, complex projects
- Experience with managing the coordination of design development with other functions which will include construction, estimating, project controls, procurement, and contracts management
- Understands and supports the standard architectural work planning, scheduling, and job hour estimating process
- Knowledge and experience with BIM. Experience with multidisciplinary Autodesk Design suite (e.g. Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks) and the related design workflows
- Demonstrate flexibility in balancing competing deadlines, priorities, and resource availability
- Must possess good teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, and the desire to innovate
- Proven ability to work within a diverse multicultural environment.
