Project Overview:
Bechtel Parsons Blue Grass is the systems contractor selected by the Department of Defense’s Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternative program to design, build, systemize, test, operate, and close a facility to destroy the chemical weapons stockpile at the Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond, Kentucky. The Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) has safely destroyed 523 tons of mustard and nerve agent in projectiles and rockets and is the closure phase of decommissioning and demolition.
Candidates for unescorted access to the Chemical Limited Area must successfully clear National Agency Check with Local Check (NACLC). All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. The ability to obtain/maintain access to the Blue Grass Army Depot is required. Must be physically fit and able to work safely in a D&D facility. Eligible applicants must be a US Citizen and successfully go through a government screening process.
Job Summary:
BGCAPP is seeking a Deputy Site Manager – Decommissioning and Demolition role supporting the Site Manager in the decommissioning and demolition of the pilot plant facility.#LI-CL1
Major Responsibilities:
- Manages the organization and direction of construction related activities
- Oversees total site management including supervision of construction craft personnel, field engineering, contract administration, schedule, field procurement, and resource personnel
- Oversees jobsite for labor equipment, material and services and ensure field operations are within the budget
- Develops, implements, and administers a jobsite security plan and coordinates the activities with corporate security department
- Ensures execution of Project Automation Plan, Environmental Compliance Plan, safety plan, site survey plan, Construction Execution Plan, and job-site rules
- Directs the development and implementation of a training program to ensure subordinate personnel receive progressive training to enable them to assume additional responsibilities
- Establishes and assures adherence to schedules, work plans and performance requirements
- Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, division, and/or customers
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree and 13-15 years of relevant experience, or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
- Relevant work experience in facility maintenance management, project planning and work control operations
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Highly motivated and able to work in a diverse team environment
- Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in a chemical agent destruction facility during systemization and operations
- Extensive experience in construction, fabrication, manufacturing, and maintenance of equipment and systems
