  • Salary Range: $90,990 - $160,220  annually (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant. A 15% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary for positions that are worked in New York City or San Francisco, which is subject to change depending on market conditions.).

 Project Overview:

Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.

Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will perform routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and support the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, preparation of cost data, and the project trend program. You will assist with budget allocation and developing quantity takeoffs, project codes, and application unit rates. Your work will help ensure projects stay on budget and excel. Supports cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and schedule development, maintenance, reporting, and monitoring activities, as directed.

Telework Designation: Full-Time In OfficeThis position is a full-time role located in the Richland, Washington project office, and works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off. #LI-LM1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assess current state of HLW EVMS adherence against completed Project EVMS surveillance and identify any gaps to EVMS requirements
  • Develop a plan to implement changes to address EVMS gaps
  • Collaborate with Project team members to implement identified changes
  • Provide EVMS adherence monitoring and provide corrective actions for compliance to EVMS requirements.
  • Review HLW variance analysis and work authorization documents updates relative to EVMS requirements and checklists

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Level I:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and at least 5-8 years of professional experience or, in lieu of a degree, at least 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

Level II:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 8-10 years professional experience, or in lieu of degree, at least 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)
  • Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrates intermediate level understanding of Project Controls general technical skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
  • Proficiency in cost processor and/or scheduling software applications (Cobra, EcoSys, Primavera P6, etc.)
  • Prior Earned Value Management System experience on an Engineering, Procurement Construction job.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication.
  • Proficient in software applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledgeable in basic earned value management terminology and methods.
