We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.


Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.


Position Summary

This individual performing the WTP IS&T Infrastructure Operations Analyst position performs work on Information Technology (IT) processes and tools in the area of network communications to support a large-scale project of significant complexity. Additional responsibilities: Supports implementation of project IT infrastructure systems and services in coordination with project and NS&E requirements. Supports implementation of project safety and quality goals within area of responsibility. Identifies and implements technical innovations that add value and improve project work processes. Performs work that require the application of a significant range of fundamental principles in a wide and often unpredictable variety of contexts, either in a technical or advisory capacity to the WTP Network Operations Team Lead, WTP IT Operations Manager, the WTP CIO, or other departments as directed. Position is full time, a 9 80s schedule, M-F 7:00 – 4:30 with alternating Fridays off and partial telework in accordance with business requirements. 



  • Supervision Received – Receives direction from the Project CIO, the IS&T Operations Manager, and the Network Operations Lead.

  • A self-starter able to work unsupervised.

  • Installs, tests, and supports wide-area and/or local-area network and telecommunications components such as data/voice switches, routers, and/or voice/video equipment.

  • Develops network/telecommunications operating procedures and guidelines as they relate to date/voice switches, routers, and/or voice/video equipment.

  • Assists in developing standard network/telecommunication device configurations, address schema development, monitoring tool configuration and deployment.


Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

  •  BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited college or university with 6 years of related experience. In lieu of a degree 12 years of related experience.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
  • Possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Basic knowledge of web-based technologies
  • Basic understanding of business case analysis and reporting and evaluating buy vs. build
  • Ability to identify, track, escalate and resolve problems using comprehensive techniques and methods of troubleshooting end-user problems
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of hardware and operating systems including virtual computing architectures, network infrastructures, security models, client server principles, backup, recovery, and storage policies and procedures, and planning and implementing disaster prevention and recovery
  • Direct working knowledge of Cisco HW and SW solutions, switching, routing, Wi-Fi, and firewalls.
  • Intermediate knowledge of routing protocols and concepts such as OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, BGP, and static routing.
  • Cisco or Microsoft certification (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, MSCP, MSCE, etc.)
  • Intermediate knowledge of telecommunications systems protocols to support a Cisco VoIP Infrastructure
  • Intermediate knowledge of Internet systems, protocols, and support (Ethernet, TCP/IP,DNS, DHCP, TACACS, RADIUS,)
  • Intermediate knowledge of IT security systems, protocols, and support.
  • Experience with advanced technologies such as 802.1x and zero trust network access
