Project Overview:
Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.
Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.
Job Summary:
Provides project support in the administration of the government property control program and related systems. Responsible for gathering and compiling data assisting with the assembly and maintenance of baseline requirements and the implementation of property management procedures. Coordinates or performs property management tasks as assigned. Monitors compliance with regulatory requirements and prime contract obligations. Conducts investigations and inquiries into specific property management problems and may provide assistance in problem analysis and resolution. Organizes material for presentations and assists in the preparation of status reports. Acts on own initiative on assigned property control activities of increasing complexity with little supervision. Conducts investigations and inquiries into specific government property control management problems. Reports to and receives operational guidance from a Government Property Supervisor. This is a part-time teleworking position. #LI-SF1
Part-Time Telework:
This position is a full-time role that offers part-time telework flexibility in the Richland, Washington project office. Upon initial hire and onboarding, the position will require full time presence in the Richland, Washington project office, then may offer part-time telework flexibility. This position works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.
Please be advised that the telework designation of the position may be changed in the future at the discretion of the company or project.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides principal support to a small project in the administration of the government property control program
- Identifies requirements such as compliance/flow downs from prime contract, adheres to contract insurance provisions, deviations from standard procedures/manual
- Develops procedures, instructions, forms, and training programs
- Implements government property processes such as property control, inventories, training, employee orientation, and disposal processes
- Maintains property record databases for uniquely identified property, summary records, subcontractor property, excess property and disposed property
- Prepares or assist in various property reports upon request such as government inventory and government property status, property locations, property value and utilization status
- Prepares trend analyses
- Participates in government property related meetings and organizes materials for the preparation of meetings, presentations, and training sessions
- Contributes to the development and delivery of ongoing training concerning property management
- Conducts investigations and inquiries into government property management issues for the loss, damage, or destruction of government property or vehicle accident reviews
- Coordinates with other functional departments as necessary
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Typically requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
- Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)
- Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of standard computer applications.
- Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
