Job Summary:

In this role, you will participate in the design, development, and evaluation of control systems components and processes. You will collaborate and support other engineering disciplines for control systems matters. Your professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard control systems engineering techniques will enable you to make impactful contributions to the team. 

Part-Time Telework:
This position is a full-time role that offers part-time telework flexibility in the Richland, Washington project office. Upon initial hire and onboarding, the position will require full time presence in the Richland, Washington project office, then may offer part-time telework flexibility, which requires at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. This position works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.

Please be advised that the telework designation of the position may be changed in the future at the discretion of the company or project.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the design, development, modification and evaluation of Control Systems components and processes  
  • Compiles, adjusts, and correlates data that will develop professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard Control Systems engineering techniques, procedures and criteria utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)​ 
  • Provides input to and/or maintains technical logs and records​ 
  • Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines​ 
  • Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for Control Systems related matters​ 
  • Coordinates development and presentation of material when requested 
  • Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without Bechtel visa sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
  • Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)
  • Non-U.S. citizens from countries identified by the Department of Energy as posing heightened security concerns-including sensitive countries, state sponsors of terrorism, countries of risk, and other designated countries - are subject to additional security requirements that limit site access.
  • Familiar with process control system software development.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication abilities along with effective presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Control Systems Engineering work processes, procedures, specifications.
