Project Overview:

Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest. 

 

Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland. 

 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will assist the P&S Operations & Compliance Manager in executing the daily procurement and subcontracts business operations and compliance activities. You will be responsible for supporting the Procurement & Subcontracts audit and compliance activities by maintaining project procedures, policies, and other documentation to ensure the compliance with internal and external requirements. This role requires daily interface with NS&E corporate personnel and personnel assigned to the WTP Project with respect to compliance activities and resolving compliance matters.

 

Telework Designation: Full-Time In Office: This position is a full-time role located in the Richland, Washington project office, and works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.#LI-SF1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists the P&S Operations & Compliance Manager as directed in the development of
  • Supervising the assigned project Procurement functional personnel in their performance of Procurement operations for the project
  • Participates in the coordination of Procurement operations in the project office to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Providing direction according to established policies and management guidance
  • General and special conditions for use on all project subcontract and purchase documents, ensuring that requirements of the prime contract are incorporated
  • Procurement presentations to project and/or client personnel
  • Procurement status reports to client, Project and GBU Management
  • Leads project office oversight of compliance file reviews and self-assessment in accordance with Procurement policies and procedures
  • Monitors the flow-down of prime contract requirements into project procedures and approved pro-formas.
  • Prepares revisions to project pro-formas, including legal and commercial terms and conditions and coordinates approval with legal counsel.
  • Prepares revisions to project procedures based on prime contract requirements and maintains approved deviation list against GBU procurement procedures.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with providing orientation and training regarding project-unique requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and/or direct preparation of P&S procedures in conjunction with project and corporate functional management
  • Proficiency with monitoring the Procurement team’s implementation of project procedures
  • Considered highly skilled and proficient in file review compliance against processes and procedures and skilled ability to identify impacts and solutions resulting from file review results
  • Experienced with coordinating and leading self-assessment activities as required to help identify improvements to processes and/or procedures
  • Agile and adept at building effective working relationships with project departments, government services and external audit agencies, as required
