Position Summary

Bechtel is currently seeking an energetic individual to join the Adoption & User Experience team as a Technical Training & Communication Specialist. The Adoption & User Experience team is part of the Modern Workplace organization in Bechtel’s Information Systems & Technology function and is responsible for driving modernization and adoption of Bechtel’s collaborative workplace.   


The Technical Training & Communication Specialist will manage online IS&T training platforms, help functions define learning paths, create and deliver technical training, and create communications that help Bechtel colleagues improve productivity and efficiencies with our collaborative platforms (primarily Microsoft Office 365). 



  • Manage IS&T’s online training platforms, analyze usage data, define strategy and standards for improved employee experience. 
  • Partner with Bechtel’s Learning & Development team to integrate required courses into the Microsoft Viva Learning platform. 
  • Interface with internal functions to define content strategies and learning paths to help employees achieve learning goals. 
  • Oversee IS&T course offerings and learning paths.  
  • Research and create web content including overviews, guides, and conceptual explanations. 
  • Design, develop, record, edit, and publish short training videos for IT solutions. 
  • Design, develop, and present live training sessions for IT solutions. 
  • Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to develop written technical instructions and communications content for end users.  


Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, education, communications, information management or related discipline OR sufficient related experience in lieu of a degree.  


Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills in English. 
  • Knowledge of, and experience with Office 365 products and emerging features with a focus on Microsoft SharePoint and Teams. 
  • Experience creating graphics and short videos with Adobe Creative Cloud or similar tools. 
  • Experience with online training platforms such as Microsoft Viva Learning, LinkedIn Learning, BrainStorm Quickhelp. 
  • Experience with researching technical content and creating clear end user learning materials. 
  • Experience or interest in digital communications, including video, podcast, social media, and other new media applications.  
  • A dedication to customer service with a commitment to quality.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a confident, articulate presenter.  
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fluid environment.  
  • Strong investigative and analytical skills to identify problems and develop solutions.  
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a busy, dynamic work environment.
