Job Summary:

Bechtel is looking for a Social Media Lead to drive content strategy and execution across its social channels. The ideal candidate is skilled in both paid and organic social media, with experience creating engaging content, including copy, visuals, and other creative assets. This individual will know how to leverage social platforms to enhance brand visibility, highlight company milestones, and engage target audiences. The role requires strong judgment and exceptional copywriting skills. Whether developing social campaigns from scratch, optimizing content for engagement, or launching paid initiatives, the ideal candidate will bring innovative ideas, drive measurable results, and apply a strong understanding of data analytics to make smart, data-driven decisions and track key metrics to ensure success.

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute Bechtel’s social media strategy—both organic and paid—across platforms, ensuring alignment with overall communications strategy.
- Craft compelling social posts, visuals, and campaigns that resonate with target audiences and reflect Bechtel’s values and achievements.
- Manage both organic and paid social campaigns, from planning to execution and reporting.
- Collaborate with teams across Bechtel to identify and amplify project milestones, as well as evergreen storytelling content and thought leadership.
- Monitor and analyze social media metrics to inform strategy and optimize performance.
- Lead the charge on social media monitoring and oversee all channel inboxes, serving as the liaison with our followers.
- Stay updated on social media trends and emerging platforms.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and tone across all social content.
Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in Communications/Public Relations or related field with 8-10 years of relevant experience, or 12-14 years of relevant professional experience in digital media, marketing communications, or public relations, in lieu of a college degree.

Must have the right to work in the US without sponsorship.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Functional:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including writing for social media and other online platforms.
- Skilled in managing paid social campaigns, including audience targeting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
- Experience with social media tools is essential. These include, but are not limited to: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, Threads, BlueSky, Meltwater, Canva.
- Passion for innovation, storytelling, and digital trends.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
Leadership:
- Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with executive leadership with maturity, confidence, and sound judgment.
- Obsessive about copyediting and proofreading.
- Demonstrated ability to complete assignments under daily or weekly deadline pressure.
