Senior Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities:

Perform work that involves conventional engineering practice, but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and/or difficult coordination requirements. Coordinate engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups. When delegated, assumes a lead technical role over other engineers or project subgroups for completing specific tasks. Assist in on-the-job-training of assigned personnel and provides input for their performance evaluations. Perform or assist in the performance of problem analysis and original design. Review and check work of subordinate engineers. Review mechanical systems designs and engineering studies prepared by other engineering firms. Provide guidance and ensure engineering quality design and compliance with project requirements, local design guidelines, local codes, and standards of independent engineering firms that are carrying out the detailed engineering design. Coordinate and visit jobsite as required, to resolve problems, interpret drawings and documents and provide technical support during the construction phase. Represent the client in technical meetings and Value Engineering analysis. Coordinate with other disciplines, consultants and attend project meetings. Review contractors shop drawings, technical queries and technical submittals to ensure compliance with design documents.

 

Regular duties include:

  • Understanding customer requirements and converting them into design criteria for mechanical systems manufacturing process.
  • Mechanical design/selection/engineering of vendor skids module (pump/equipment/instrumentation /piping together) pertaining to Fabrication building.
  • Knowledge for different Process Licenser specific design requirements and construction features.
  • Producing key mechanical engineering deliverables including CADD models, drawings, specifications and supporting calculations.
  • Reviewing and checking the work of subordinate engineers and/or subcontractors.
  • Providing technical oversight of designers implementing mechanical designs in the CADD model.
  • Coordinating with other engineering disciplines.
  • Managing engineering subcontracts with their design and delivery per contract requirements.
  • Review of contractor shop drawings, technical submittals, and proposals for compliance with project design requirements.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Level 1: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related field from an accredited institution and 5 years of engineering experience.
  • Level 2: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related field from an accredited institution and 8 years of engineering experience with a minimum of 2-year experience related to semiconductor/manufacturing facility
  • Professional license or registration as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • Experience in the design and selection process of vendor skid modules.
  • Experience in managing engineering subcontracts with design and delivery per contract requirements.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the design of mechanical systems including ASHRAE, ASME, IBC, IMC and NFPA.
  • Knowledge on semiconductor manufacturing design process as an advantage for all positions.
  • Ability to review and manipulate CADD models.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Proven team player with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
