This posting is for a Senior Mechanical Engineer-Subcontracts Manager for a large semiconductor project. It will include tasks such as understanding requirements, developing designs and reviewing and checking the design of others.


Regular duties include:

  • Understanding customer requirements and converting them into design criteria for mechanical systems manufacturing process.
  • Developing schematic and conceptual designs for mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing and fire protection) to support manufacturing process.
  • Sizing mechanical equipment for fabrication building.
  • Producing key mechanical engineering deliverables including CADD models, drawings, specifications and supporting calculations.
  • Reviewing and checking the work of subordinate engineers.
  • Providing technical oversight of designers implementing mechanical designs in the CADD model.
  • Coordinating with other engineering disciplines.
  • Managing engineering subcontracts with their design and delivery per contract requirements.
  • Review of contractor shop drawings, technical submittals and proposals for compliance with project design requirements.


Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Level 1: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related field from an accredited institution and 6 years of engineering experience.
  • Level 2: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related field from an accredited institution and 9 years of engineering experience.
  • Professional license or registration as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • Experience in the design of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection.
  • Experience managing engineering subcontracts with design and delivery.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to the design of mechanical systems including ASHRAE, ASME, IBC, IMC and NFPA.
  • Knowledge on semiconductor manufacturing design process as an advantage for all positions.
  • Ability to review and manipulate CADD models.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Proven team player with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
