Job Summary:
In this role, you serve as an impact partner in the Bechtel Enterprises (BEn) Private Capital Partnerships (PCP) team. The role will focus on, but is not limited to, driving the development and scaling of the Private Capital Partnerships (PCP) Initiative across the Bechtel group of companies. At Bechtel, we focus on relationships with Infrastructure-focused Private Equity/ Debt Funds and Sovereign Wealth Funds.
In this role, you will drive innovative growth strategies, strengthen global partnerships, and deliver tangible results. You will also help shape and support Bechtel Enterprises’ strategic advisory business, in partnership with Bechtel’s Global Business Units (GBUs). This will include creating relationships with target customers and capital partners through front-end engagements and delivering tangible results that shape Bechtel’s future in priority EPC markets.
You will have a skill base and track record of leading initiatives and projects in collaboration with senior leaders in a collaborative and trust-based fashion. Structured problem-solving skills, commercial acumen, a track record of leading people and followership, and strong collaboration and relationship management skills are additional prerequisites.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
- Drive a private capital partnerships (PCPs) approach that integrates external insights relating to private capital, with a focus on priority GBUs.
- Develop and lead new partnerships with priority private capital funds to create privileged relationships and front-end opportunities upstream of EPC work.
- Own the development and delivery of high-quality analytical outputs from initial scoping through final executive presentation, including coordinating inputs across functions, reviewing models and materials for accuracy and clarity, and ensuring work products directly support decision-making, customer engagement, and opportunity development.
- Lead workstream(s) and supervise team member(s) to develop and orchestrate new joint BEn/GBU solutions for customers, ultimately resulting in new sources of profitable revenue.
- Understand commercial models for project execution and how best to frame Bechtel’s approach to private capital funds in relation to their EPC contract decision-making.
- Guide and supervise junior team members’ contributions to the PCP team and development of their PCP capabilities skill set.
- Manage internal processes, e.g., related to management approvals, team objectives & goal setting, as delegated by the Managing Director.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
- MBA or other post-graduate degree preferred.
- 12+ years of relevant experience in partnership development and execution.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with external stakeholders, e.g., bankers, customers, partners, OEMs, technology providers, government officials, consultants, and advisors.
- Experience managing teams and structuring work to access customer opportunities.
- Experience structuring work to access customer opportunities.
- Track record originating, structuring, and executing complex commercial agreements.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills. Track record of independently leading teams to structure analyses and build insights, particularly in ambiguous or high-stakes situations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex analytical workstreams end-to-end that translate data into clear strategic insights for executive-level customer audiences.
- Ability to build and execute strategies for building growth businesses, in ambiguous situations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills to engage senior leaders across GBUs, BGI, and external organizations.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an investor or corporate capacity to structure & execute commercial partnering agreements.
- Senior relationships in the financial industry or LNG/ electric power generation/ AI industry globally that could be drawn upon to help inform and build team’s remit and mandate.
