Job Summary:
The HR Business Partner is responsible for developing and overseeing strategic and operational HR services for their assigned business units in alignment with the enterprise business objectives and plans. This role translates the enterprise and organizational strategies into specific HR strategies and operational plans enabling business talent and workforce solutions through proactive consultation with business leaders, Community of Expertise leaders (COE) and People Operations leaders by leveraging global HR expertise. #LI-KL1
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
- Collaborates primarily with NS&E Leadership and other HRBP on business unit strategy to deliver the overall business plan.
- Participates in HR meetings and serves as an advocate for the business in shaping HR services, solutions, policies, and practices.
- Drives the talent and workforce agenda, ensures alignment of the business with global talent and workforce policies and programs, and communicates the rationale for current policies, programs, and changes as they occur.
- Liaises with project teams and NS&E Management Information, Government Services, Ethics and Compliance to resolve issued relating to governance and compliance. This can include audit support and preparation of corrective actions stemming from any internal or external audit findings.
- Interface with the Communities of Expertise and People Operations to implement new or changing HR-related government contracting requirements.
- Prepare and/or review Exception to Policies (ETPs) prior to submission for approval ensuring compliance with NS&E policies and applicable regulations; coordinate management approval and subsequent distribution and maintenance of records.
- Special projects, as assigned by Strategic HR Business Partner or NS&E Leadership partner.
- Assess, create, and implement innovative solutions for a variety of employee engagement objectives and initiatives.
- Models and instils the culture and organizational values within the business.
- Develops talent and workforce plans that improve and support business performance.
- Supports strategies to develop or acquire talent in alignment with business needs, goals, and objectives.
- Analyze and utilize business metrics and data on productivity, retention and employee experience and offer insights to business decisions on how to achieve talent objectives.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
- Must be able to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Global knowledge and experience of Human Resources Programs and theory across multiple disciplines (Workforce Planning, Succession Management, Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Diversity and Inclusion, Immigration and Talent Management).
- Prior experience in interpretation and implementation of HR policies.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong experience with metrics formulation, production, and analysis; advance Skills in Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, relationship management, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Curiosity and desire for innovation, improvement and change that enables sustainable performance.
- Ability to effectively manage and work within ambiguity and prioritize on business needs and resources.
- Ability to work with minimal direction, often with deadline pressures.
- Proven skill in influencing without authority to achieve group and organizational goals.
- Able to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience implementing HR policies with U.S. Government company operations.
- Experience within the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) industry.
- Experience working with global teams, cultures and understanding global requirements.
- Experience with SAP/Business Objects and related work processes or similar HRMS systems.
- SPHR or PHR certification desirable.
