As part of NS&E’s Proposal team, you will be working in a diverse group providing deliverables & generating input to proposals for Firm Fixed Price/Lump Sum/Cost Reimbursable type projects associated with marine/heavy industrial facilities, renovation or repair of large waterfront facilities, Department of Energy and Department of Defense high hazard/nuclear facilities, nuclear power plants, and general government infrastructure.  This multi-functional team will include personnel from Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Startup.

 

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment with oversight.
  • Develop, review and coordinate documents with other disciplines and/or functions to support proposals.
  • Develops drawings and deliverables to support proposals and estimates including of single line diagrams, load lists, and quantity take-offs to support proposals.
  • Develops material requisitions and specifications for non-standard equipment and bills of material for off-the-shelf equipment and components as required.
  • Capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry-proven concepts, and procedures.
  • Ensures electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building, and interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

  • Level 1: BS degree in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university, with 6 years of related electrical engineering experience.
  • Level 2: BS degree in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university, with 9 years of related electrical engineering experience.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft office programs, VISIO, and other common computer programs.
  • Experience in Electrical Engineering documentation for Conceptual, Preliminary, and Final Design.
  • Must have strong understanding of engineering discipline drawings and calculations.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.
  • Extensive knowledge on electrical systems, schematics, and electrical equipment layouts.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical equipment specification an developing procurement documentation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, planning and organizational skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Level 1: MS degree in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university, with 4 years of related electrical engineering experience.
  • Level 2: MS degree in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university, with 7 years of related electrical engineering experience.
  • PE Registration.
  • Previous experience in estimating projects and providing material take-offs.
  • Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience.
