Project Overview

Our Nuclear, Security & Environmental (NS&E) Global Business Unit executes large, first-of-a-kind projects in government site management, environmental restoration, defense, space, energy, and national and homeland security.


As part of NS&E’s Proposal team, you will be working in a diverse group providing deliverables & generating input to proposals for Firm Fixed Price/Lump Sum/Cost Reimbursable type projects associated with marine/heavy industrial facilities, renovation or repair of large waterfront facilities, Department of Energy and Department of Defense high hazard/nuclear facilities, nuclear power plants, and general government infrastructure.  This multi-functional team will include personnel from Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Startup.



  • Electrical Physical Design (and circuit and raceway).
  • Develop, review and coordinate documents with other disciplines and/or functions to support proposals.
  • Developes raceway design, equipment location and layout, lighting, communications, grounding, lightning protection, and quantity take-offs to support proposals.
  • Capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry-proven concepts, and procedures.
  • Ensures electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building, and interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

  • Level 1: AA/AS degree with 8 years of related design experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 12 years of related design experience.
  • Level 2: AA/AS degree with 11 years of related design experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and15 years of related design experience.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficient experience in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Extensive knowledge & application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.
  • Experience in Electrical Engineering documentation for Conceptual, Preliminary, and Final Design.
  • Must have strong understanding of engineering discipline drawings and calculations.
  • Experience with electrical equipment and raceway layout.
  • Must have proven 2D CADD and 3D skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, planning and organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Revit design tools.
  • Experience in estimating projects and providing material take-offs.
  • Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience.
