Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill. You will prepare cost studies, review cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges. #LI-ML1
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership
Major Responsibilities:
- Performs generally non-routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities.
- Coordinates the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports
- Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports
- Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency
- Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
- Investigates the requirements for estimating and/or cost control data
- Collects and classifies cost data
- Performs budget allocation and reporting/cost control regime for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines
- Identifies cost trends for management attention
- Prepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Leads the cost estimating, analysis, and control activities for an area within a project which requires a low to moderate degree of technical skilled experience.
- Identifies cost trends for management attention.
- Perform routine and non-routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities.
- Coordinated the implementation of cost monitoring, and controls standards, techniques, systems, and reports.
- Performs budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction disciplines or group of disciplines.
- Prepares cost data for proposals or contracts.
- Identifies cost trends for management attention
- Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports.
- Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency.
- Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures.
- Investigate the requirements for estimating and/or cost control data.
- Collects and classifies cost data.
- Ensure work is completed as scheduled
- Prepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons.
- Statistical knowledge in the areas of sampling distributions, probability, and hypothesis testing. Knowledge in supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present cost engineering and cost estimating products.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Receives assignments with clear goals and the process by which to meet goals.
- Demonstrates judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel.
