Organizational Systems Design Practitioner

Role Overview

The Organizational Systems Design Practitioner will be responsible for the development and coordination of the overall organizational transformation including end-to-end change management, process change and organizational structure and design elements.

 

Job Duties:

  • Researches and leverages industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices; providing guidance to executives when difficult decisions need to be made.
  • Define high-level road maps incl. major projects and milestones for respective reorganization efforts.
  • Prepare organization design alternatives, test them against design criteria, and help align leadership groups around design selection and implementation.
  • Support the process of identifying, assigning, and implementing decision making authority and responsibility to both individuals (decision rights) and groups (governance).
  • Design jobs and roles, create competency models and career paths to aid in the selection and transition of employees.
  • Guide business units and corporate function leaders' challenge and rethink their organizational purpose and value. Create structure and design solutions with them that best address strategic and performance issues.
  • Assess organizational health, effectiveness, and the readiness for change. Prepare workforce transition plans and programs, including strategies to transition talent at all levels.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor through the organization design process.
  • Contribute to practice development initiatives including culture building, internal community involvement, eminence, recruiting, whitepapers, etc.
  • Ensure that all aspects of multiple Organizational Structure & Design projects are cross-aligned, efficiently rolled out, and well communicated.
  • Design and deliver Organizational Structure & Design-related briefings and documents incl. board presentations.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Psychology, OCM, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field with a minimum of 15 years related Organizational Change Management or Business Transformation experience with increasing responsibility over time or 19 years overall experience in lieu of degree.
  • Direct experience of organizational design, guideline-setting and process optimization in major international business projects or in the context of corporate functions.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience using consulting methodology to diagnose organizational effectiveness issues and implement solutions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with change management principles and methodology, organization design practices and processes, executive coaching, and team dynamics to build effective organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and initiatives, including developing project plans, identifying stakeholders, preparing corresponding communication plans, identifying milestones, deadlines, and metrics to assess outcomes/results.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience coaching leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience facilitating executives and groups to create solutions and resolve issues.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly analytical with ability to gather and interpret organizational metrics/data.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity while attending to multiple stakeholders, a variety of concurrent projects, and firm deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing large scale transformation efforts and interventions (e.g., strategic planning, change management, organizational assessment, organizational design, leadership off-sites, team development, new leader assimilations/transitions, etc.).
  • Affinity with digital transformation and agile methodologies.
