Job Summary:

The Mental Health Program Manager is a new key leadership role within Bechtel.  The role will be accountable for working with key internal and external stakeholders, including partnering with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention identifying, developing and implementing a detailed strategy and program for mental health awareness and suicide prevention throughout the construction organization.

 

"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”

Major Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dynamic leader who will understand the business goals, legislative requirements, industry practices and stakeholder expectations as they relate to the development and implementation of the organization’s mental health awareness and suicide prevention program. The role will involve working across all business lines globally, forming relationships with key stakeholders across the organization and championing mental health awareness and suicide prevention int the construction industry.

 

As a new role, the candidate will be required to consult with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement the mental health awareness and suicide prevention strategy for the construction organization.

 

The successful candidate will have senior experience in major project construction and program/project management with demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build key stakeholder relationships to effectively drive change through implementation of the strategy.

 

A self-starter who strives for excellence and achievement, has a high degree of ethical conduct, demeanor and a working style to foster trust, respect, collaboration and engagement with others both across the business and externally. The ability to switch between the operational and strategic levels of management seamlessly and a tenacious character that can both give and accept constructive criticism is essential for this role.

 

The role will be Reston-based with regular travel within the United States and potentially internationally, to maintain leadership presence and remain connected to our project sites.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • 10+ years of supervisory or leadership roles in the construction industry
  • Demonstrated experience in program/project management roles 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and objectively verbally and in writing to internal and external counterparts.
  • At least 5 years of experience with direct-hire craft execution
