Role Overview

The Business Development (BD) Associate plays a key role in the Corporate Business Development team. This individual will support a variety of aspects including but not limited to market, customer, and competitor research; customer relationship and prospect pipeline reporting; knowledge and information sharing with Bechtel’s Global Business Units (GBUs). Job Duties:

  • Conducts research and analysis on current and future strategic markets to support the identification of new customers, markets, and opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains a tracking system to monitor opportunities Bechtel is pursuing.
  • Disseminates relevant information and market analysis to BD Managers across the organization to support the pursuit of new opportunities.
  • Collaborates with GBUs to understand their current and future research needs to guide the work of the external research vendor.
  • Manages the delivery of external research vendor to the GBUs to ensure research is tailored to the business unit’s requirements.
  • Develops and maintains a tracking system to monitor market data, sale of businesses, other information relevant to Bechtel’s current and future opportunities.
  • Provides additional support to senior Corporate BD employees as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and a minimum of 5 - 7 years of relevant experience or 9 - 11 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
  • Ability to perform research and analysis of various data sources including but not limited to customers, financial statements, industry trends, and global current events.
  • Ability to leverage disparate and seemingly unconnected data and information to generate actionable business insights.
  • Experience communicating across organizational boundaries.
  • Candidate must possess the right to work and remain in the US without sponsorship.
