Project Overview:
Bechtel seeks an HR Specialist in Reston, VA to support internal service award programs as part of the Global Benefits team. Responsibilities include administering the service award program, assisting with US and global benefits administration, and advising other global service award administrators and event planners.

Job Summary:
In this position, you will perform administrative benefits tasks in support of Bechtel’s employee benefits programs including service and retirement awards and reward recognition programs. You will answer questions and help employees with their benefits, enabling them to focus on what they do best, knowing their well-being is our top priority.
Major Responsibilities:
- Plan and direct logistics of service award and retirement recognition event planning, implementation and follow-up. This includes all aspects of event coordination: Invitations, coordinating of communications and presentations with senior management, coordinating with vendors and restaurants, and attending events.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and vendors to create memorable events.
- Attend and oversee lunch and evening dinner events. Provide training, guidance, and direct support for service award event planners in the US, as needed. May require some travel.
- Assume other health and retirement plan administration duties such as processing, auditing, and reporting for the U.S. Benefit Program, as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Oversee the LeadeR+ inbox and provide support to employees and leaders regarding program inquiries.
- Collaborate with the Awardco representative on user file updates, technical issues, and program enhancements.
- Run and analyze program reports as needed, including the monthly D&A report for Angela Tomassi.
- Review and process monthly invoices for accuracy and payment.
- Submit quarterly purchase orders and monitor invoice completion.
- Troubleshoot and resolve recognition system concerns affecting employee eligibility or account access.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a minimum of 1-3 years of related experience
- Associate degree or related technical training preferred
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of and prior experience working with HRIS systems, specifically SAP.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.). Ability to work with little supervision.
- Effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Possess service mindset and ability to build strong relationships. Initiative-taking, flexible, and adaptive to changing priorities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
