About the GPD Team:
Established in early 2026 through the combination of three separate Bechtel Enterprises teams focused on renewable, thermal and nuclear power, respectively, the GPD team seeks to be responsive to market demands for both firm and intermittent power resources, following market signals without internal preference for a particular generation technology. The GPD strategy is focused primarily on developments in the U.S., but certain other global markets could be in scope, so long as there is clear, upfront alignment with the strategy of the relevant Bechtel Global Business Unit (GBU). The GPD team develops projects with the aim of recovering development costs, earning a development fee and securing on behalf of Bechtel the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the developed project.
Job Summary:
Joining the GPD team as a Development Manager focused on Nuclear Power is an opportunity to be an important member of a growing team that is working on a strategic and highly visible business venture within a well-funded corporation. We are looking for a talented and energetic individual to support nuclear power project development and financing across the U.S. and in some cases, globally. This role will work closely with Bechtel’s Nuclear, Security & Environmental GBU, which has designed, built, or provided services for over 150 nuclear plants worldwide.
The position will be responsible for managing the full suite of development activities for active projects and supporting the prospecting / consortium-building efforts required for new projects. Activities will include site identification, financial modeling and analysis, interconnection and transmission work, project permitting and licensing, and community engagement. The position will work closely with our internal power marketing/origination, project finance, legal, nuclear licensing SMEs and EPC teams as the team’s projects advance to a final notice to proceed to construction.
"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership” #LI-AM3
