The Digital Enterprise Program (DEP) is digital transformation program that will transition our operation from document centric to data centric execution.

 

Work Location:  Reston.

DEP Data Modeler

 

Bechtel is seeking a Data Modeler to support our Digital Transformation at our Reston, Virginia Headquarters.

 

Key for your success in this role is your proven experience in Data Modeling, a champion across all data management activities. Technically, you will be sound with experience in implementation of data centric systems and standardization.

 

The position offers ample opportunity to "make a difference" and to be an active part of the decision-making process that leads to improvements and positive change across the implementation of our Data Transformation.

 

This role will design and manage our future state data centric Semantic and Canonical models and engage a cross-discipline and cross-functional team of work process SMEs, data centric and automation experts and stakeholders. 

 

Essential Duties:

  • Deliver, on behalf of Solution Architect and Data Modeler Lead, our future state Semantic and Canonical models and implemented with MDM and Data Governance processes and systems.

 

  • Perform the Data Modeling operation in developing and extending information models

 

  • Work with Management, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction leads, and other data modelers in the decomposition of work processes to provide technical guidance for the implementation of those processes into a Data Centric medium.

 

Basic Qualifications 1:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent EPC work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience with Relational data models
  • 5+ years’ experience with implementing data centric systems
  • 3+ Experience with data modeling and class libraries
  • 3+ Experience with Engineer application system’s schemas and data models
  • 3+ Experience in implementing Business Intelligence (BI) solutions
  • 3+ Experience working with SQL, NoSQL or PostgreSQL type databases

  • 8+ years’ experience with Relational data models
  • 8+ years’ experience with implementing data centric systems
  • 5+ Experience with data modeling and class libraries
  • 5+ Experience with Engineer application system’s schemas and data models
  • 5+ Experience in implementing Business Intelligence (BI) solutions
  • 5+ Experience working with SQL, NoSQL or PostgreSQL type databases

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience within the EPC Industry
  • Some construction experience (job site experience) is a plus
  • Experience with Engineering applications
  • Six Sigma certification
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Knowledge around data integration and master data management a plus.
  • Software development experience in Java, Java Script, Python, PHP, Ruby, VB, C, C++ or similar
  • Understanding of semantic standards (RDFS, OWL, SKOS)
  • Experience with graphical ontology tools such as TopBraid Composer and Protege 
  • Experience and or understanding of process modeling
  • Knowledge of Design Thinking
