Project Summary
Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come.
Role Overview:
- Creates and integrates cost control systems for data automation, analyzes cost control processes, and implements system improvements.
- Works hands-on in Project Controls databases (Oracle/SQL/Access/P6/EcoSys) that include Data Model Design, Database Backup/Recovery, and Queries, Indexes, Procedures, Views, etc.
- Standard and custom report development (Access, SSRS, HTML5) to support Project Controls needs.
- Interfaces with Bechtel management and client counterparts for coordination of cost system applications.
- Facilitates information gathering and input into specific performance studies.
- Responsible for integration of cost reporting systems and overall system execution.
- Evaluates performance study results and recommends conclusions for project team consideration and discussion.
- Performs productivity analysis of project cost systems and recommends improvements by work group.
- Uses statistical tools to analyze metrics (e.g., regression, analysis of variance, correlation), and ability to analyze measurement systems to identify bias, repeatability, and stability issues.
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and at least 9 years of professional experience, or in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 15 years of professional experience.
- Possess the legal right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be able to pass nuclear security screening requirements and be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power facility.
- Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check including verification of employment, education, and travel.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Will be experienced in leading the production of management information reporting at a project level including the use of enterprise level systems.
- Experienced in developing and leading processes for reporting that are tailored to the program environment and to meeting customer requirements.
- Experienced in monitoring and reviewing cost performance, including cost estimating, cost control, financial reporting systems, and cost analysis.
- Demonstrated strong background with and an ability to review and present cost engineering and cost estimating products using a high level of professional judgment and knowledge of engineering design, procurement, and construction practices.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Demonstrated advanced level of understanding of Project Controls technical skills.
- Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Controls leadership experience on nuclear new build EPC/EPCM power plant projects.
- Proven track record of successful project controls delivery across cost engineering, cost estimating and change management.
- Experienced in the application of Power BI Analytics to deliver management information across a program.
