Job Summary:

The Corporate Productivity Lead (CPL) will support the formalization, maintenance, and development of the Construction Workface Effectiveness Operations (CWEO) program, processes, and procedures. CPL will have specific oversight of the Productivity Engagement Cycle (PEC) and lead the organization to strive for continuous improvement relative to Craft Productivity and the increasing of Direct Work across Bechtel Projects. The CPL will also have primary responsibility for technology solutions used throughout CWEO to capture, track and report all KPI metrics for individual Bechtel construction projects and Corporate Construction Management.


This is a key role in the Global Construction CWEO Organizational team in the home office. The CWEO CPL will collaborate with and provide direction regarding productivity analysis and overall organization strategy to CWEO project team leads across the Bechtel Enterprise. This position reports to the Corporate CWE Operations Manager. This role is highly visible within the company and as such, the candidate should have versatile communication abilities to address all levels of personnel and management. #LI-KL1H1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintains an active working relationship with Bechtel Global Construction Workface Effectiveness management team in coordinating, delivering, creating, and facilitating all aspects of the CWEO program
  • Maintains active working relationships with Project/Site Management teams
  • Maintains working relationships with appropriate levels of Bechtel organization, including business unit, service organization, office
  • Maintains working relationships with Corporate, GBU and Site HR/IR/LR managers and recruiters
  • Utilize Six Sigma methodologies to conduct Enterprise-wide Super Pi analyzing construction programs and performance critical to project estimates and delivery of contractual terms
  • Act as the subject matter expert in Productivity Analysis and the Productivity Engagement Cycle (PEC), providing guidance, problem-solving, coaching, and direction in both proactive and for-cause situations
  • Maintain all functional documentation, analysis reporting templates, and procedures to improve project Direct Work
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and prioritize those opportunities with the management team
  • Collaborate with Corporate Construction members and project leadership to identify and implement ongoing performance improvements
  • Maintain knowledge and technical expertise of current best practices, both from within Bechtel and industry wide, to identify fit for purpose tools and techniques, and implement them in a reasonable and responsible manner
  • Identify innovative ways to increase direct work at the project workface while minimizing overall costs
  • Develop and maintain appropriate project and corporate level KPI suite
  • Collect, analyze, summarize, and present CWE Operations data, information and trends to Corporate Construction and Project management
  • Assist / Lead out in designing new procedures and methods for execution processes
  • Assist project CWEO teams with deliverables, work with site leaders to identify, modify, and sustain desired changes including reducing waste and improving inefficiencies
  • Mentor CWEO team members to realize benefits from all continuous improvement initiatives and act as a change agent to the site/organization
  • Lead projects and initiatives from idea generation to strategic execution. Provide strategic insight and evaluation of the CWEO organization’s progression
  • Assist in staffing activities including the identification, onboarding, and development of CWEO team members
  • Gain thorough understanding of “Minutes Matter” Productivity Awareness - Improving the Direct Work Element on Projects White Paper

 

Education and Experience Requirements:      

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Construction Management, or Business and 13 years of professional experience or in lieu of a degree 19 years of professional experience
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years construction/industrial engineering experience
  • Must be a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

 

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience PowerApps integration with Azure API Apps, Azure Logic apps, Azure Functions, REST services, and Relational Databases - Oracle or SQL Server
  • Experience in SQL, stored procedures, functions, SQL optimization techniques
  • Must have thorough understanding of cycle time reduction, waste reduction, yield improvement, productivity, and throughput improvement
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite (includes but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Experience guiding team progress for continuous improvement projects/programs
  • Be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills in planning and organizing to handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Advanced problem-solving ability to identify root cause, attention to detail and numerical aptitude
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong presentation skills (written and oral)
  • Strong ability shape organizational strategies to achieve organizational goals
